Just time before I go.... :-)

Now you may think the following question would be better posted in Pig Breeders Gazette or some other more apt portal but....

what is the difference between pork and bacon?

I guess its mainly how a pig is fed that determines whether its bacon and ham or pork. I also realise there are certain breeds that are better for one or the other...
can anyone enlighten me please?

An old wolf would like to know what he's eating hooooowwwwwwwwwwwlllllllllllllllll.

Cheers
Peter

As my old beat was Smithfield Meat Market I should know a thing or two about this subject but I dont :-) no as far as I can tell pork is normal meat bacon is cured (smoked or soaked in various brews. Must be a long time since you had egg and bacon for brekky. There is nothing on earth as good as the smell of fried bacon

John is right of course but since there are more hogs in this state than people I couldn't let this one slide without posting something.

Pork=any meat from a pig, hog, swine, etc.
Bacon=cured pork usally from the side, belly, or back.

MMMMMM Bacon...

Not to be confused with Kevin or Sir Francis.

Bacon in the UK is a lot better than bacon over here. Our stuff is half fat and half meat whereas bacon over there is close to what we call Canadian bacon. Yum.

You are right of course Chad. But if God did not want me to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?
