I have a chance to get an Iwata Revolution BCR at a decent price from a local shop. This is the siphon feed model, not a gravity feed model. I've heard that gravity feed is potentially better, but have no experience to use as a deciding factor, as I've only used siphon feed airbrushes myself (Badger 350 and 200). This would be my first entry into the world of double-action AB's as well...
So, does anyone have any experience with this particular brush? Good, bad, or indifferent ratings? Should I pass on the siphon feed and buy comparable gravity model?
Enquiring minds want to know.

daselim,
Personally, I have the Revolution CR (gravity feed). I love it and would highly recommend that you get this model! I would not get the BCR, in favor of the CR. If for no other reason than you will save yourself A LOT of paint with the CR. I can put just a drop or two into the cup and spray away. This comes in handy for little details to be painted where you only need a tiny amount of paint. Oh, and I'd check online if your hobby shop doesn't have the CR. It can be had for much less than the suggested retail price.
Also, just in case you care...I have the 10 foot hose that Iwata makes for my AB and a Craftsman 125 psi/2 gallon (or so) compressor. The combination works great!
Good luck with making your decision and let me know if I can provide you with any other information.
Oh, and I've had the setup for about 8 months now with no problems as of yet.
EDIT: One more thing, you can look in my gallery and check out the camo I did on my 251 half track. I was able to do that with the Revolution CR and it was my first time doing camo, so the brush performs well...my skills are all that need working on.

Armorguy, thanks for the input. I see that dixieart.com has the CR for around $70, which is a tad cheaper than the BCR is locally. So, I think I'll go that route.
I have a 2gal 100psi Campbell Hausfield compressor that does double duty of running my finish nailer and also my airbrush. It's a little noisy, but it's done a good job so far. I use it with a 10' Badger hose for my 200, so I'll look into getting a hose adapter for the Iwata when the time comes.
I checked out your 251 and it looks sweet! Your skills are heads and shoulders above mine at this time. I need to find more time to build and paint
Maybe I need to stay away from the PC and the Internet for a while :-)

daselim,
I'd also check out www.bearair.com, though I can't get their website to come up for me this morning for some reason. They may have better prices still. That's where I got mine. Good luck with your new airbrush!

Is the CR .5mm needle anygood for fine detail work? I can pick this airbrush up for a good price at my art store.

WakeofDemons,
I'm sorry I've been so long getting back to your question. I haven't checked this thread in a long time. Yes, I like the .5mm nozel. I am able to do lines probably as small as 1/16 of an inch or so if I'm very careful. It can also do my overall spraying. This is part of the reason I chose this airbrush. I love not having to change nozels. It's all in one!
