Well its not that comfortable to say this for many reasons.
But my ethics and opinion in buying - trading tactics oblige me to do so .

In April 18 i had a deal with a Greek Member named George Matos , that posted here a selling thread .

https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/49486&page=1

The member is this one

https://armorama.kitmaker.net/user.php?op=userinfo&uname=george_matos

So the guy sends me some of the agreed pieces but he "forgets" to send the bonus he promissed and basically an 1/9 Bust from El Viejo Dragon of Alexander the Great.

Since then i have been contacting him many times and he always promises that he is sending the missing bust i paid for , but he never send it .

Well after almost 4 months of waiting i am persuaded that i ll never get my bust . The guy doesnt reply me the pm's anymore nor his email.

As u understand the 15 - 20 euros that the bust was agreed (if i remember well after all this time) is not my main problem. But here in Greece we have code of honor in these things and it hurts me twice for this reason. Trust is a basic thing for Greek Guys . Thats why whenever i do a trade with a guy i first send the pack i am obliged to , without ever waiting until i receive what i expect .

Funny thing is that i welcomed him with my heart in the site . But this wasnt for good luck this time.

So be ware if u see anything from him.

I am embarassed that he is from Greece , and even more cause i have been doing trading with many unknown modellers from all over the world without NEVER having a problem with that and its the first time ever.

So really take some care of people with almost zero posts, and zero presentetaion to the site's forum when they only wanna do trading or selling .

Thanks for the heads-up Costas.

It is too bad that a few people make a mess of our fine modelling community.

Thank God, there are only so few of them!!

John.

That stinks. I agree, it usually isn't about the money, it's about the honor and honesty of a situation.

To bad for him.

It's a sad thing to happen - not just because someone's getting ripped off but because someone is taking advantage of a fantastic site to make a cheap profit.

I'm very sorry Costas, especialy you're very active here on armorama and as I can see everyone can depend on you, your "free give away" action shows that still there are few good guys on this world and then you meet such and again you think you can't trust anyone
By the way thanks for warning.

Sorry to hear Costas. Apparently you are not the first to have problems, as his name is popping up on another discussion board I frequent.

Hope he chooses to settle his business like a gentleman.

I addressed the issue of the buy/sell/trade forum just a few days ago in the staff support forum (not available for viewing by non-staff members). Among the issues I brought up dealt with doing business with members who have very little interaction with the site (not regular posters).

I'm not saying that someone who only posts here to sell stuff will automatically cheat you, nor am I saying that a well established member won't cheat you. I was trying to urge caution in dealing with strangers.

I normally do business with folks I see who also advertise on other model sites.

Hopefully George_Matos will rectify the situation, or if there was some miscommunication, he will step forward and tell us his side of the story. I wish you luck in your resolution. Perhaps you have a better chance of a solution since you are both in Greece?

That bites. BIGTIME. I guess I consider myself lucky as not to have had that done to myself. In my other hobby (airsoft), that community is small enough that you can actually catch an offender pretty quick. The end result is a bad name and bad reputation.
I consider most people to be honest, but sometimes I think I may be too naive also to trust too much.

As always all it takes is one bad apple! Hopefuuly this problem will sort itself out. It does hurt when one gets stung. Sometimes honesty and honour do not apply to everyone. For these few it is their lose!!

Hi Costas!

That's really bad! All over the years I never had a problem like that - and, as you say it's not about the money, it's the Gentleman Agreement that fails!
(here are the Gentleman again)!!!

And by the way, I have no affiliation with this Matos
Relax brother Costas!
You have donne your job, and payed your price!

Very sorry to hear about this Costas, especially since you did take the effort to personally welcome this person here. It's sad, as others have said, when one bad apple spoils it for others. I commend you on your sense of honor. I would have had a hard time dealing with somebody who's 2nd post was to sell items. I am sorry to see that the trust you put in another person's honor has been abused.

That sucks. Sorry to hear you got ripped off. its even more disturbing because I have always found modellers to be some of the mosts honest and outright generous people around. I guess there is always at least one rotten egg to ruin it.
