Ciao everyone,
Well, I just finished my Non-lethal weapons instructor course this Friday. Lot's of great training!!! I enjoyed three days of young men 10 to 15 years younger than I beating the living tar out of me. Then, we finished the week by being pepper sprayed. The official term is "OC" or "oleoresin capsicum." The stuff that makes peppers hot. I will not repeat what people were calling it after it was applied on them. Anyway, had the .18 to .22 range sprayed on me, and then had fight-through stations, including fighting a guy in a "red suit" (padded suit) and weapons retention. Now, sit back and enjoy the fun in photos.

Here I am getting initially sprayed.

Here I am really starting to get the full effects of not being able to open my eyes or to breath normally.

I believe now, I am calling out "Mommy!!" or some blatant profanity. I will need therapy!

Hope you enjoyed. Remember, if the nice policeman says to do something or be pepper sprayed.......Well, you've been warned!!
Ciao for now
Rob

Oh, come on. I do this for fun! You have to learn to appreciate and embrate the soothing burn of a good spray, my man! And after that, a nice good kick to the groin wraps up a fun afternoon at the Murphy Household!

:-)

"Spray me Baby! Oh, yeah, yeah, YEAH! Now the kick! OOOOOF! (mother!) Yeah that's the one..."

Cuhail

PS, I am sooo kidding!

Ciao guys,
No, I will not be up for further testing. This was the third time in three years, and I won't/can't/don't/wouldn't go through it again. I am an instructor now, so I will be doing the spraying (sounds like something a Tomcat would say.
Also, two guys screamed like B horror movie actresses!! Too funny!
Ciao for now

When I was in my teens, my buddy (his father was a police officer) got us a can of pepper spray. Of course we had to test it out on ourselves. You can imagine what it was like. I will definitely not need to try that again. Ever!

Ciao Monte and Marty,
Yeah, you might be tougher than me, Monte. They sprayed me at about 0830 (I was the second to go. Not bravery, just wanted to get it over with) and I was done with the debilitating effects about one and a half hours later. But, I took a shower last night and reactivated some of the stuff in my eyebrows or eyelashes. Had to get up and walk around in circles under the ceiling fan for about 10 minutes. I can say that I am done with it now.
Marty, I applaud your courage and am appalled by your "dumbness." (Just kidding.) It probably hurt you worse, because the older OC sprays were oil-based (very nasty - and flammable.)
Just glad it's over.
Ciao for now

Been there, too, with the spray, and the foam (sort of like a poor man's napalm!). But the funnest was before they let us carry bug wackers (stun guns) we had to get zapped. Now that's a real toe curler. Glad you came out O.K.

Haven't been there with the OC spray, CS and CN gas were enough for me. Not something I want to repeat.

I know how you feel mate used to have to go in to the resiparator testing facility to practice NBC drills will CS gas not much fun doing decontamination drills when the instructors have let off more cs tablets than they should have then make you take off your gas mask give your name, rank, number and tell a funny joke not much fun when it's you but great fun when you see others comming out

Funny you should mention that! If I'm dealing with a guy who is being a super @ssh*le, I usually spray some pepper on top of his head because when he finally gets home the first thing he's going for is a shower!

Man I love this stuff!

Rob,
Thanks for remembering me this part of police trainings as I start it next september...
But hopefully I only have to spray it in my ears while I 'only' gonna be a dispatcher first years
