For those of you who would like to know..Kevin may not be around the site for a few days.
Early today, i took Kevin in to have some routine bloodwork and check up done. Well..this afternoon we got a call back from the physician with the results of the bloodwork and the instruction that we were to take him to the hospital right away.
According to bloodwork, Kevin was in a diabetic state, and needs to be hospitalized and given insulin by IV in order to get the blood sugar under control. To give you some perspective for those who do not know...blood sugar levels are usually between 80-110 as normal.. Kevins was almost 600. Further more..by the time we reached the hospital and checked in..it was almost 800.

Doctor says he should be fine..but will more than likely be in the hospital for a couple of days..and will be started on insulin shots to control the sugar levels..

I'm sorry to hear that Kevin is in hospital again. I hope they can stabalize his sugar level and work out his insuline dose quickly.
All the best, and keep an eye on him, all those nurses... :-)

Cheers

Wow. Prayers immediately going out for Kevin. When I had my problems earlier this year the good Karma I received from people on this site surely must have meant something to someone. Shots aren't that bad. Take some getting used to. I was one of those nerd kids that had to get allergy shots twice a week.

Seriously Mary,

Give him best wishes from the whole Keenan clan.

Shaun

EDIT: He has to get better soon because from what I understand the Huskers are going to have a team this year. My Mom is from Schuyler and her whole family lives in Lincoln. My mom and I are actually the only Husker fans that live in Indiana.

Mary:

Please let Kevin know that we are thinking about him down here in Texas. I hope he gets his blood sugar levels under control quickly and can return to his normal activities as soon as possible.

Lucky you were getting an exam when you did. My buddy actually went in for a checkup and they found colon cancer. It was such an early stage they were able to treat it.

Best wishes to Kevin and you take care of yourself too Mary

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Fortunately, they caught it before he went into a diabetic coma or DKA. Keep us posted.

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who took the time to send your prayers and best regards to Kevin. It really means a lot to me, as i know it will to him. I will make sure that he gets all the messages posted here.

As far as an update on his condition...I checked in with him b4 bedtime, and i am very pleased to announce that his blood sugars are coming down. At last check his number was somewhere in the upper 100's..which is extremely good compared to the almost 800 of earlier. He said he was feeling better. Soo...all in all...things are looking lots better..

Keep the prayers and well wishes coming for his speedy recovery..
And once again to all of you who have posted....Thanks from the both of us (++)

Sending some good thoughts from this side of the big pond too.
I have a close friend that's diabetic and so long as he's careful he still plays golf, football (soccer that is) etc; so just keep on going and take good care of him OK
