I love the summer but hate the heat, especially the hot/sticky days. Its been in the 90's here and humid as all getup. Even the dogs on my mail route are too lazy to bite me.
But when I get home I feel the cental air in the house and then head downstairs to my hobby room where its even cooler. God bless central air!!

I thought it was meant to be us English that talk about the weather all the time ! We are having our best summer here in a few years, been around 30C (80+F) for a few weeks now, quiet a treat over here.

Yep its about in the 80s and i hate it. Don't want to go to work, to hot to sleep, can't be bothered to model or do much else. Oh well it will be winter soon, then i can moan about it being too cold then :-) :-) :-)

It's been hot and humid here for the last 2 weeks. Today is passable, then the week4end will be a blast furnace.
My modeling room is on the 3rd floor (attic) of a house so old I don't dare open a window for fear it will fall out.
Of course, this is better than when I was a kid. We lived in a cardboard box in the middle of the road, and every night Dad would hack us to sleep with an ax. But you tell that to the young people today!

Well, it's 83 tonight, and I'll be heading out for an "hopefully" 8 hourshift in an un ACed boiler room..... Like Shaun, it does get rather hotter there, average 10 to 20 degress hotter than outside temps...... winter or summer. (frezze in winter ----roast in summer) so I'm rather happy to get home and live with heat and AC.
But I do "Model-On" at work with the help of a few box fans .... OH brought in by the operating engineers...... the state has yet to provide us with any fans in the last 5 years. (they provided one, and we had to rebuild it........ :-) :-) )

110 on Friday with 30-40% RH.......1st call of the day at 0833? A 2 alarm structure fire :-)
3 hrs in full turnout gear and SCBA
The warehouse guy was kept busy hauling ice and water to the incident, we ended up with the wildland guys and gals at the fire to provide staffing for overhaul.
Even had an inmate handcrew from the camp.
Normally we have the famous "dry" heat, lately it's been an East Coast Mid West humidity, VERY unpleasant!
Is it November yet?
Cheers!

After reading all this. I feel like I want to invite you all here, where I work. In Saudi Arabia. I divide my time in 2 stations. One in the central region where it's always 45-55 Cel and dry. I supervise installations in a construction site here. In the east region of Dammam. Humidity has just started a few days ago and I supervise a couple of warehouses here with no A/C. Same temperature plus the humidity. Between me and my 5 man crew, we could finish 2 five gallon bottles of water a day drinking and pouring it over our heads.

"Luxury! We used to have to get out of the lake at three o'clock in the morning, clean the lake, eat a handful of hot gravel, go to work at the mill every day for tuppence a month, come home, and Dad would beat us around the head and neck with a broken bottle, if we were LUCKY!"
Thanks for the Python refs, guy.
Good chuckle for a Sunday morning.
Supposed to be 93 here today...
Heading to my sister-in-law's pool.
