OK, OK, OK!!!

After watching the movie again, I withdraw my statement about BHD as worst war movie ever...

Perhaps it also depends on how you watched the movie; I saw it first time with others. Firts guy disliked this, the other one that and before you know it you agree the whole picture is rotten... (And believe me, watching it that way you see all the nitpicks directly!)

That's why I watched it again after al the I recieved in this forum on my statement and I must admit...
BHD was quite allright when you let yourself be taken by the story. But it won't be my favourite one neither.

I also admit that evry war movie with Chuck Norris is indeed more worse than BHD. Far more..

Paul

- Top Gun has Northrop F5s painted black with red stars, pretending to be Migs,

Well, this would be understandable. The movie was made in cooperation with the fine folks at NAS Miramar in San Diego, the real TOPGUN school. At the time, their inventory of fighter type aircraft were F-14's, A-4's and F-5's. Truth be told, the Navy (and Air Force) used F-5's to represent MiGs in their Opfor/Aggressor squadrons, granted, they weren't painted black, but they were painted in representative schemes.

Not that this makes Top Gun a great war movie, or even a good movie of any type, but that part is acceptable.

:-) :-) Yep ... now I'll have to run over to the "Best Movie" thread and post Stalag 17, along with The Wooden Horse (book was better)

Gee.... I have a copy of Hart's War, still shrink wraped, maybe I should even open it......... :-) :-)
