All,

I need a little help with an "alternate" decal setting solution. I've tried to apply the fuslage lozenge to my teeny Fokker D.VII, but the Roden decals simply sneer at my use of Micro Sol. It's as if to compensate for prior lack of carrier film, they've made these decals are like little pieces of card for all their willingness to conform to a simple curve.

Any ideas on what I could use as an "industrial strength" setting solution? Do I need to go hunt down some serious acetic acid?

All help appreciated,
Mika

you can try Gunze Mr Mark Softer. It is pretty strong stuff and its what I use when microscale wont get the results I am looking for. Hope this helps,
Cheers,

Solveset by walters.. never met a decal this stuff couldn't get to lay right..... (melts the decal right onto the model.. brush on decal.. let set..don't touch....... more applications if needed.)

I second the vote for Solvaset. Works like a charm, as long as you don't even so much as look at the decal after application.

Solvaset is awesome stuff but try it out on a spare decal first ..This stuff can be too strong for some decals. I've had some curl up into a ball on me ...Damn that stuff is strong. :-)

Hmmm, my Solvaset must be a bad batch then as it doesn't seem help at all with decals - one of the reasons why I try to stick with dry transfers.
