I've had mine for about two weeks now. Less than a week to go and I'm really getting geeked about this. Myself and a bunch of friends are going to the 12:01 A.M. showing on the 19th. I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas morning to arrive, (of course my wife says that I'm still a little kid mentally ) I can hardly wait!

Enjoy it Mike! You're only young once.. It's up to you to make it last as long as possible .
One of the privileges of being a man is that you can get away with not growing up.. :-) :-) . if the girls would be honest, they don't expect us to .. .
Having seen the previous two 'prequels' (??) being less impresive than the originals, I have good hopes that this essential episode will be of '80's' vintage quality..

join me Luke, and we can rule the Empire together.

I was going to take the day off so I could sleep in, but I'm a teacher and Thursday the 19th is the next to the last day of school here. As I really don't think my principal would like me not being there I'm going to suck it up and go in. I already told my assistant I'll probably be very "out of it" that day.

I have taken off work for all the prequels and when they re-released the trilogy in the theatres in the late 90's. I still remember seeing all 3 non-stop at the theatre. I have my tickets for Revenge of the Sith and will be seeing it Wednesday @ midnight as well.

Well, I didn't get to skip school for the first two prequels, and I wasn't alive for the original trilogy, so I don't have any stories from them. Fortunately, though, Episode III comes out two days after I graduate, so a bunch of my friends and I are going to the midnight show and don't have to worry about sleeping through any semester finals!

the youngest is with my parents that day and so will the whole family (aw el 90% of it) will see it at 12am Wednesday.

My wife was kidding today do do her hair hair as princess Leia and that i should dress as Luke

My son wants to go as Darth Maul, I am still thinking about it, but I can't hide the fact that I think it would be cool

May the force be with us

I've got mine for me and the wife to see the flick on opening night - 10:30 PM. I was hoping that the darkness might chase away the most rabid of geeks and baby-toting parents...

Yeah, I thought about that last night. I wonder if there will be some people there in Star Wars custume?? As for the screamin' babies and/or kids, hopefully they will be in bed at midnight, but these days you can't be too sure. (shut my mouth too!!)

I'll be 'camping out' in a joint exercise all week so I will have to wait until the weekend comes along. And that will be eaten up by the 'Honeydew' list of things I couldn't get to not having been home all week. Otherwise I would be there.

This one looks good enough to wash the bad taste of the previous two (or three) out of my mouth...

I already got my ticket. Next Thursday, 6 pm. I reserved the ticket the day they went for sale. I remember it was the 6th. I still can't believe I got about the best seat in the whole theater. Balcony, front row center.

After the disappointing episode 1, episode 2 was a definite improvement but still not up to the magic of the first trilogy. Now is the time for George Lucas to redeem himself. No more Jar Jar Binks, no more romantic plots. We want The rise of the empire, cleansing of the jedi order, enter Lord Vader!
Btw. When I watched a tv-show that featured Finnish celebritys commenting the new film after a preview, they showed short sneek & peek clips of the film. And there it was. THE coolest scene in star wars movies for the last 20 years! Darth vader rises and Palpatine saying "Rise, Lord vader" and Vader: "Yes, my master" That was so cool! I can't figure it out why on earth that clip is not on the trailer?

I really hope there's not an articial happy ending to this film. Speaking of bad endings, I can't believe how Lucas ruined the ending in Episode 2! When I saw the scene with Senator Palpatine on Coruscant watching over a parade with thousands of clone troopers and carriers with the imperial march playing on the background, I thought to myself "now this is something I can call a good ending scene" But no, oh tears & sorrow, no. Then we watch a cute little jedi wedding, Oh man that was lame!

But have you guys seen the picture where Anakin is standing in the same blockade runner as in The New Hope? That one single picture looks more "star wars" than anything after Return Of The Jedi. That's because that's real scenery, not a cheesy computer generated image.

But for now, let's hope this new film is the best of the new trilogy. Maybe even as good as the classic first three. I can't wait for the 19th!

The scene with the rising Vader is in the teaser trailer.

Click on Trailers and then choose a size for teaser trailer. And then watch the scene over and over again to your hearts delight. Gives me shivers to be honest with you!!

I bought and read the Ep III novel twice now - I'd have to rate it as the best Star Wars novel I've ever read. If the movie holds true to the novelization (which I believe it does) then I don't think you'll be disappointed...

I don't wear costumes or anything of the sort, nor do I have a closet full of Star Wars paraphenalia. I do, however, love Star Wars. Having been "online" since 1995 I had never thought to look up anything 'Star Wars" prior to 1998. In fact, I caught the debut of the Episode 1 trailer totally by surprise onTV while flipping channels. It was on ET in 1998 after leting out a scream of disbelief, I was left sobbing not weeping... no BAWLING for joy. Although I was not overly delighted with Episodes 1 & 2 - I still await this one with a feverish sense of absolute delirium. I have 2 hours and 30 minutes left before I am off work for the rest of the week - just for Star Wars. I just cannot describe the wave of emotions that came over me when I saw that Episode 1 trailer - they are much the same now with the pending debut of Episode III. Without exposing anymore of my feelings towards this subject I will say this - the theater that I am seeing Revenge of the Sith in serves beer and other alcoholic beverages - there will probably be some quivering lips and tears from me on this one.

I watched the movie. Definately the best movie of the new trilogy. But still I like the old trilogy more. I miss the "realism" of the old films. How space ship are worn and gritty. Now they look like the designer don't know what they want to create. But at least the republic star destroyers were cool!

The final confrontation between Anakin and Obi-Wan was well made and the end of Anakin was as cruel as it should be. And the scream "I hate you!!" sent shivers down my spine. And the rise of Darth Vader at the very end was probably the coolest moment of the new movies.

Also, the scene where Anakin goes to the jedi temple to kill the young jedis, was memorable. The children come from behind seats and look at Anakin in sheer horror. "what can we do, there's thousand's of them". Then a look at Anakin's face. A little tear runs down his face. Then shot of behing Anakin. And then his lightsaber lights up.

But one thing that has bothered me since seeing the film is that how Lucas could do such a mistake with killing Amidala in childbirth. Her dying just because "she lost her will to live" was stupid. And how on earth could Leia remember her mother being "often somehow sad" in Return Of The Jedi if Amidala dies about 20 seconds after her birth?!
ROTJ suggests that Amidala went to some sort of a hideput but had to give Luke and Leia for adoption as the risk of being exposed to the imperium was too great.
But this was about the same rant I gave in the movie/TV section!
Go and read that instead.
Anyway, a good movie to end the trilogy.

I thought about this myself, but remember at that point in ROTJ Leia didn't know who her real mother and father were. She was referring to her adopted mother, Bale Organa's wife, since that was the only mother she knew.

Where does this take place? (I'm not saying you're wrong, I haven't watched ROTJ in a while so I don't remember)
As far as where Revenge of the Sith ranks among the six movies, for me I would put it #3. The Empire Strikes Back 1, and Star Wars a VERY close second.

Cheers,
Mike
