Hi Guys,

Has anyone ever ordered from Aardvark Models? I placed an order with them 4 weeks ago and after I received couple of e-mails straight away stating my credit card had been charged I've heard nothing. I tried to ring them and got an answering machine and my e-mails have not been replied to.

Does anyone know if this company is a bit iffy?

ive never ehard of them, are they an online retailer?

if you paid by credit card then you will be fine if they have ripped you off, they love getting their teeth into a bit of fraud!

Hi Joe,

Yes there is a website. They have resin upgrades for aircraft. I actually sent an e-mail first asking if they had the item I wanted and got a reply saying yes. I immediately went onto the site and placed my order.

I don't mind if online retailers have delays in filling my orders as long as they keep me informed. To hear nothing is quite annoying and very bad for customer relations. In the event they actually send my order I still won't use them again.

Wow! I've got to cry "Foul!" here!

Some of those kits look familiar.. I wonder why? Oh, yes! I made and sold them!

Back in the dim and distant mists of time, Martin Blundell, the guy behind Aadvark, used to cast resin parts for my range of Blueprint Models.

When I let Blueprint slip, Martin informed me he wished to market copies from a Blueprint Models Hurricane Fabric wing conversion. I gave my permission for that on the agreement that a nominal "royalty" would be payable. Suffice to say, Martin has never paid me a penny...

The Lightning Mk.1 conversion makes me particularly pissed off... because Martin has never had permission to market that model and yet has benefitted from an SAM review. I have complained to both him and the magazine about this.

I guess that says it all Rowan. I will contact my credit card company to get a refund.

Hi Martin

Thanks for the reply. I should add that only the Lightning , Hurricane and RAF seat (I imagine that's part of my original Hurricane conversion which included a cockpit update) are ex-Blueprint Models.

I remember seeing the Ju 388 and Heston Racer years ago when Resitech (Martin's old company) produced them and they're very nice.

Martin Blundell is actually the organiser of the Doncaster show which Mal attended at the weekend. It's a small world!

All the best

Well there has been some progress on this one. I managed to get in touch with this Martin Blundell, he took my phone number and promised to get someone to phone me back.

I was pleasantly surprised to get a phone call within half an hour regarding my order.
They asked me to send an e-mail with my order number etc and they would get one sent out.

The guy said the reason that they never replied to my e-mails was that they get so much spam sent that they have filters set up that block most stuff. If anyone needs to get in touch they should put Aardvark as the subject.

I will post here if and when the order arrives.
