I'm looking for issues 1 & 2 of Ampersand's "Allied-Axis The Photo Journal of the Second World War" to complete my collection.
If anyone has any info on where I may get my hands on these to issues, please PM me or reply here.
TIA

Ken, Have you tried your local library? Just never return them and say someone stole your library card.

Thanks for the help so far guys. I have nearly exhausted all possible places to find this. I did find a site that had one listed, but it was in some funny foreign language.

I can just hope that one turns up on eBay.

BTW Dave, just ignore John. I have learned to many years ago.

Ken, try Tristar Model in Hong Kong, they have both still listed. I picked up some long since OOP AA books from there a few months ago after a fruitless search for US sources and Tristar had all the ones I was missing:

Hope this helps

Thanks for the heads-up Steve. Any idea what shipping costs are? There is nothing on the site that mentions it. They just offer EMS, Air, and Surface with no cost breakdowns.

Ken, I saw your post after I saw your p.m. to me. Now that I see the shipping options I think for the A-A books I used airmail since they're heavy and for the resin sets I just used EMS since they were so light (I refuse to use surface). Like I mentioned in my p.m. the prices I thought for shipping were comparable to other international places I ordered from (Blast Models, Hannants, Hobbyeasy). That invoice they email you with what's in stock will show you what the price breakdown will be, you can either agree to it or just don't return it and try another shipping method or try requesting at that time a different method. Come to think of it, I think they also charge a "credit card fee" of like 3-4% but also offer a bank draft (I don't trust that.....).

Ken, actually here's another one from Hong Kong to try: www.hobbyeasy.com

They also list all the A.A. books as in-stock. Search for "allied-axis". I've also ordered from them and they are much more easy to navigate and shop from - definitely less funky ordering system than tristart. And they do give you a break-down of the shipping costs ahead of time, but you won't know what's in stock until its too late (ie already shipped). I had ordered some Hobby Fan gun crew sets from them that was listed as in-stock but not all were actually so it shipped without them.

So you may want to try them first if you're leary about the tristar ordering method.

Thanks again Steve. I sent both companies emails and I'll just wait for replies before I order from either.
