I consulted one of my colleagues who did her PhD on Melbourne's Turkish community and travels to Turkey on a regular basis. She suggested that Raki is best enjoyed at a fish BBQ.
Our weather is quite warm at the moment and I BBQ'd Atlantic salmon for my family's evening meal yesterday. I washed it down with a couple of glasses of Tekirdeg Raki in iced water - and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I'm keeping the bottle in the fridge and I'm looking forward to trying it straight next time!
Thanks for suggesting something that I haven't tried before.
