Last night after many many deaths I beat CoD
The final assault accross the Lundendoff Bridge at Remagan was most fustrating and death seemed the likely outcome.
However, last night I assaulted the bridge, stormed the towers and finally made it to the top of the tower, took the bad guys and shot down the attacking Stukas - YEEEEE HAAAAAWWWWW!!!!!
So now thats behind me - can anyone recommend another first person shooter - perferably with a military theme to it????
Thanks

I don't think I ever finished the single-person game. I got stuck in that Russian house with the tanks coming up. I can never kill the tanks before either being over-run by Germans or shot by the tanks (yes I am using the tank guns on the floor).
I think they need to build a little auto-difficultly into the game AI. If you die over and over the game should keep track and say "hey maybe this part (for whatever scenario reason) is too hard" ... I will scale down the difficulty. Similarly there are times when it's too easy and I haven't died in 10-20 minutes of play, then the game should be increasing the difficulty.

Yeah, Jim, taht was a tough one, but it's doable. IIRC, you have to kill the tanks in the back first. It was about a year ago I went through that game, the first game I ever completed without a god-mode, though I did ask a friend who'd finished for advice a couple times.

To kill the tanks from the house, you need to run up and down the 2nd and 3rd floors using the AT guns in the windows. Take out several tanks and then hold the building from being overrun by the Germans until your relief shows up (a 2 minute ticker shows you how long to hold out for).

Frank,
Have you played any of the Medal of Honor games by EA?
Those are pretty good. If you want difficult though play Battlefield 1942 or Battlefield Vietnam online against human players. They will teach you the meaning of sneaky. :-)

I should have clarified - I have both the EA games MOH - Frontline and Rising Sun.
There a PS2 game on Vietnam that looks interesting - or perhaps Desert Storm??? Anyone know of some names???

Vietcong is one and I believe there are 2 Operation Desert Storm (or something like that) games, 1 & 2 for PS2.

With not too many WWII themed FPS's available out there that have not already been mentioned, I must recommend that you try Painkiller! Pure carnaged bliss!

Keep your eyes open next month. Brothers in Arms-an other WW2 shooter- will be released on X-box and PS-2. Lots of good things being said about this game. It's based on a true story, and the entire game "environment" was exactly recreated by viewing old recon photos. Check out a couple of gaming websites, I'm sure they have reviews/comments.

VERY COOL. Great graphics. It kicks CoD and MoH up more than a couple of notches.
