Yea i know it was perhaps a bit dumb on my part ,however a few monthes ago orderd two models from a on line hobby shop that people use on this webbsite got the models, had addres had phone no and email and a secure credit card system but still my card details got used and some one orderd $2,500 worth of kits i do understand where you are coming from but as you can see with all the areas that you high lighted in your response i still got screwed and when i contacted them to ask how they thought my card info had been used they did not even have the manners to respond.
My post really should have been titled perhaps "Dumb Chris Again" but it was just a bit of info.

When I want to buy from on-line stores I have never bought from before, I always ask around first, to see if anyone have good or bad experiences with the company I have in sight.

It's a good idea to post warnings, here.

Thats a pretty rotten thing to happen to you Chris, I appreciate the heads ups. Maybe we should keep a data base of deadbeat businesses. One thing I do to avoid being ripped off to badly with a credit card, is to keep a small spending limit ( $500) on the card I used for eBay or other electronic purchases. When I want to buy something thats over my limit I simply credit my card with that amount before I buy.

I hope your products are just stuck in the mail.

Regards
Bruce

I really hate to see modeller taken advantage of. We are a very trusting lot and there are some real scumbags out there. I have learned the VERY hard way that unless the company will accept paypal I wont give them my credit card info. That said there are a few companies I have grown to trust and they even have my credit card info on file. So here is a list of model companies I can recomend without hesitation

Formations ( without a doubt the best there is)
Hometown hobbies. ( Decent and good C/S)
Mission Models. ( great selection and good C/S)
The Barrel Store ( Never a problem and super C/S)

hope this helps
Cheers,
Bryan

You might want to preuse the vendor lists here at Armorama.
They support the site, help keep the site running, and many are members.

I agree, the worst problem I've had with Great Models is a couple of items being out of stock. I've bought about $1000 worth of sruff from them over the past year.
Squadron.com is also a web store I'd recommend without reservation.

Hi guys thanks for the replys
Yea the whole object was a heads up call however i got my money from the card company buy just phoning them and they will sort it out.
As i said having waited the month i also sent the company an e-mail explaining my displeasure and how i had been let down and of course that i had got my money back from the credit company.
I was very clear as to how i felt and what i felt like doing to them, 1 hour later i get an e-mail thanking me for the order and that the products would be on the way. Makes you lose the will to bloody live as you can imagine i told them were to put the order lol lol
Cheers chris
