I think the idea of a Canadian build is an idea long overdue and I will be joining as soon as my Ardennes Campaign project is finished.

But..............

I'm noticing the utter lack of Canadian armor that can be built OOB. It seems I can buy a model then have to spend a good chunk of coin on conversion parts. Does anybody have any sites where I can buy the WHOLE model and not need to buy conversion parts?(I'm not talking about PE sets, aluminum barrels,etc.)

PS: I think people like Trackjam and Maple Leaf Models are a credit to Canadian modellers. Thanks for putting Canadian armor on the map guys!!!

thats something i agree with , stupid conversions, big companys liek tam of dragon dont bother paying any respect to canadian tanks, how hard would it be to do one or 2? canadians went to both world wars and companys cant make canadians decals to go with a canadian tank

Well while I would tend to agree with you guys that Canadian Subjects are scarce they are not completely absent. Here is a quick list of kits you can build out of the box for a Canadian subject.

Tamiya

Willys Jeep
M4 Early
Dingo Sout car
Universal Carrier
Quad Gun tractor (has cdn decals)
25 pdr Field Gun
6 pounder anti tank gun

Italeri

Willys Jeep
Willys Ambulance jeep
M4 late
Dukw
105mm Howitzer
Priest 105mm SP
Ford Artillery Tractor (has cdn decals}
15 Cwt Truck (has cdn decals}
6 pounder anti tank car

DML

All 3 of the VC firefly kits
IC firefly (has cdn decals}
M4A4 both Kits
M4a1 Early

This is just off the top of my head guys I know I am missing some. But there are a load of other kits that dont need much alteration to make them a Canadian Vehicle either. There are a bunchy of Figure sets as well. I am sure some one can add to my list.
Hope it helps
Cheers,
Bryan

Don't forget the 113 series (113, command post, fitter), and for figures, go to ultracast..i have 3 and they are excellent.

You can also build the Italeri Leopard 1A2 right out of the box including MG. these were the rent a tanks in between the Centurian and the C1's. You would have to add Canadian Markings.
The M548 can be built right out of the box as issued in 1968. No initial mods until the early 70s.

AFV Club does indeed make one. Her's mine:

I added the HKCW tracks, Grief Headlight lenses and additional turn lights at the front. You can build it out of the box for a pre 1977 version.

Luc,
yes i did. I don't know what the scale is. However, you will note a ruled scale on one of the drawings. You just have to measure the scale and divide to determine what scale the drawing is.

The AFV M548 is still out there but is getting harder to find.I spent weeks looking for mine.I have yet to find one on Evil Bay (I say that because I've spent way to much on it. ) but I stopped looking when I finally found one at a store off the beat and path for me.

AFV Club Achilles comes with Canadian Markings in the box. I can't vouch for the accuracy of the kit or anything else (I haven't built mine) but its an oob build for you that is under 35 bucks.
