Hi people. Can anyone help and advise on the Tamiya paint thinner product. Is it worth purchasing some.

Also when using the Tamiya paints I find that they dry so quickly and I have to apply a think layer, is this normal.

Thanks Craig

I just use regular rubbing alcohol I purchase from local store's!I normally use 91% or 70% to cut my paint for airbrushing! Also a lot cheaper for cleaning brushes!!!!!!

In my own personal experiance, I find that the Tamiya thinners thin the paint down better then using just alcohol, or distilled water, windshield washer fluid etc, etc.

I used the others I noted above, but my paint jobs took a real turn for the better when I started using Tamiya's thinnner with their paints.

Mind you I don't use the Tamiya thinner to clean the airbrush afterwards, I leave that to the cheaper stuff like windsheild washer fluid and such.

I don't use much tamiaya paint but when I do i use their thinner as it gives the best result.... i just don't use it to clean up.. I find that really cuts down on costs and use of the product... ... I use rubbing alchol or washer fluid to clean up afterwards..

Its the best thing for thinning down Tamiya paint. well worth the money. I haven't found anything that works as well. I thought alcohol and windex were fine untill I sarted using it.. I will never go back. HTH

I've tried other stuff for diluting Tamiya paints but I, like everyone else, find that their thinner works the best. I usually buy it in the 250ml container.
