Merry Christmas everybody! I just wanted to take a minute to check the posts and I thought I would see if anyone else has to work today. I worked Christmas Eve and today, but so far it has not been real busy. I am actually at work right now (dont tell the boss :-) ) I hope everyone has a good one and I will be off in three more hours. Have a happy New Year too.

Hey Indy,
I've felt your pain many a time...heck, I had better hours in the Army, but now I have plenty of seniority after nearly seventeen years....now the younger guys get to catch bad guys while I enjoy spending time with my family...
I can't tell you the amount of time I missed with them through the years. As I get older I avoid working if I have the choice and can be with my family...you just never know, especially in our business...be safe brother, today and always.

God Bless!

Indy:
I did 15 yrs on the job and after a while the holidays turned into just another day at work. Now I'm in security and working 11 days straight, including Christmas and New Year's. I used to rationalize by thinking what would be happening if I wasn't out there, and it made me feel just a little better.

Sorry im late with this one, I did thirty yrs in the job never got christmas off but thats what cops do, but Im retired now and do a part time job in a store and still have to work boxing day and new years day i find it distasteful that they cannot close for two days, i was reading the trade union magazine a month ago which stated they have had to force the government to pass an act to stop shops opening on christmas day.
