My Job is a machinist/gunsmith/freelance prop builder. I research and build replica movie props mostly from the Star Wars films. Modelbuilding for me is what I do for a break from this.
Basically, the stuff that I build are models too, albeit, 1/1 scale models. Just an example of my work. Everything on this particular piece is machined and/or scratchbuilt by me except the pistol grip and rear cap. In my first post, you all wanted to see some of my work and some stated that you were Star Wars fans so this is for you particularly and everybody in general. I am Happy to oblige. I hope this qualifies for our forum topics here as it is scratchbuilt.
This particular piece is now being weathered and will be going out the door soon to it's new home. Hope you like it!
Regards,
Steve

Awesome! Imagine making the Snowtroopers' tripod-mounted assault cannon in Empire Strikes Back!

Thanks you all for the comments! Unfortunately, this is my job and you would think you would never get burned out on something that you love but...
Since this is the scratchbuilders forum, I won't show pics of some of the machining work we do, but here are some more scratchbuilt cast items we have done recently.
British Sterling L2A3 SMG Replica
Combo of scratched, cast and machined parts
And the same gun converted to the E-11 Stormtrooper Blaster used in A New Hope.
Some of our custom display case work
In addition to our scratch replica work, we do the real guns, machined and welded from real parts kits, deactivated of course! ! Sterlings, MP-40's, Mausers, even a Luger here and there!
Thanks for looking!

Now all you gotta do is get it to fire laser beems without running out of ammunition. By the way, the laser beams must be PINK!
