I really wish I could paint like that Peter. I used to enjoy painting - water colours and oils - but apart from a 'Rafael-esque' scene which is now the property of the local church I think that all mine have ended in the bin!

Peter, A Brilliant Thought If you are looking for source material/inspiration for your Truck and Bus pics, take a look at the CORGI Diecast catalogues (available in most Hobby Shops) - absolutely full of liveries, various types of vehicle etc - most of it from the 1950s...

I do confess, that I actiually have quite a number of these models and a few original Dinky models as well - just don't tell that Roo Character!

I'm really enjoying seeing your work Peter - The Octopus was always one of my favourites....Thanks, Jim

Peter
Once again another great painting I drive truck over here I always liked the looks of the European trucks

What was the advantage of this type of truck? Was it all wheel drive? Or just like an 8x4?

Hi Chad....
I think the advantage was weight distribution. Bigger/heavier loads spread over 8 contact areas.
I'm no expert though.
It was a 8X4.

Dave, a sticky thread is a thread which is posted by an admin or webmaster - it doesn't vanish with the threads it is always stuck to the top. Only moderators can post stickies...Cheers, Jim
