Hello everyone,
This being the scratchbuilders forum I wanted to share this pic with you. This is the Centurion that my youngest son scratched from the tracks up in one summer,he got himself grounded for the duration;

The thing that was pretty amazing aside from the work of course is the fact that he took the scratchbuilding
catagory hands down with gold and best of trophy,
and yes he beat his dear ol` Dad in the same competition.Last time I ground him!!

It`s in 1/35 scale using the George Bradford set (2pgs)of Centurion drawings. If you`ve never seen or heard of these drawing plans do take the time to look them up and purchase a few dozen,they are very high quality and to scale. Sorry guys, a mastermodeler he is not,as a matter of fact he doesn`t build models of any kind whatsoever! Guess he figured he better make an extreme effort on his part to make amends so got right into it.

If this kid 'doesn't build models' now, imagine what he could do if he practised.... . I hope he continues. Excellent work. A trophy well deserved.

Cheers

Excellent work. I would have been impressed if it had come from a kit. The fact that it is scratch built makes it even more impressive.

I believe he was 17 or 18 at the time. Some of the stuff he used to accomplish this build was amazing;
sheet plastic
twosided cloth tape
eraserlike material
softdrink straws
buttons
t-shirt paint
....and who nows what else!!
