Hello all and here it is, my 1/16 scale scratchbuilt 4.2 morter. First thanks to 11Charlie, for his help w/ refs and pics. I'll keep this short. Evergreen plastics was used for this project. I found some line drawings on the net and scaled up a Tamiya M30 morter. This is made up of 117 pieces, 21 of those going into the M53 sight. My plans are to build a vigenette with it in the Remember Korea campaign.

wow! what scale is that! that is amazing if all of that was hand carved! keep us posted great work!

Mother,

Looks great but I think shock tube lengths are a little off. The exposed part of the shock is a little more than 1/5 of the total length of the whole shock assembly. Check out the this picture:

Joe, it looks like you been getting pretty handy with your whittling knife. That is some pretty good workmanship, and I know you spent quite some time working on it, and it shows.

I'm just like the rest of them, I can't wait to see the finished piece. Keep up the good work.

That is some very fine work, carving by hand is something i am not very good at, but apparently you are. Be sure to post the pictures of the final product!
