But I quess it's for the BEST for BASEBALL, they wouldn't have done it if the YANKEES had piching this year.

In the grand cosmic mandela of life, this one goes to my father who was a true believer all his life. I wish he was still here so we could share the moment. In the 15 years since he's been gone, I've never missed him like tonight. Talk about bittersweet..

But FNA, the Red Sox are world champs in a sweep topped by a shutout! FNA! :-) :-) :-) :-)

Congrats to the Boston Red Sox, and their fans. (at least the Yankees went 7 games)......
When my ship was in the yards in Boston, I actually became a Red Sox fan..... got those freebee tickets from the USO, and went to Fenway all the time. Of course I had to root for the Yankees when they came to Boston. As a side note..... of all the ports of call I went to, I can honestly say that Boston had the dirtiest Shore Patrol Vans........... :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) .....!!!!!

Go RED SOX!!!

And to all the Yankees fans...GET OVER IT!...Red Sox were the better team this year so enough with excuses. Yes, perhaps Yankees will beat the Red Sox next time around (then again maybe not) but for now all I am going to say is...Who cares what happens next year? Red Sox are the Champions. They've earned it.
BTW, now Yankees fans have to come up with new lame chants. The "1918" and "who's your daddy" won't cut it anymore. :-)

PITCHING; PITCHING; PITCHING Yankees had none. I am a die hard NY Yankees fan I moved to FL because I wanted to be in the 2nd most place the Yankees are.

I had to leave NY due to personal issues and the cold due to my disabilty. I could have went to CA; Hawaii: etc. but NO Tampa is a second NYC; there's more New Yorkers here then Floriandens.

But who's your Daddy was a cry for help from Pedro to be signed by the Yankees that would hurt worse than ( Roger Clemens ).

No excuses but how did the two most powerful lineups in baseball DIE or lay dorment like the Yankees and ST Cardnials not even hit the ball. The first 3 games of the ALCS it was like batting practice, then what the &*&*&%$% .

So again PITCHING; Pitching etc. If curt schilling didn't find a way to heal is ankle that would be diiferent. So I think since schilling left himself bloddied on the Holy Baseball stage had to reverse the curse; AKA Blood for Blood makes a reverse.

But I bet this will bring back more fans to Baseball after the strike of 1994 - 1995 ended.

Or was it that the Red Sox manger didn't let media in to club house have something to do with it. The media would have picked them apart like always and start doubting them selfs.

But I can see when something is good for baseball and it's the miracle year for the red sox's I bet they make a second movie about the red sox's thought like the NHL movie the "miracle"

I can say Congrats to RED Sox fans, But in the same breathing whatch out for Randy Johnson throughing. Pedero will be head hunting in Yankee land and have a third No. 1 start like a free agent likr Eric Milton, and beltron see you NEXT YEAR.

:-) :-) :-) :-) In the MOST FAMOUAS WORD QUOTE :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) WE"LL "( I"LL BE BACK )" :-) :-) :-) :-)

Well I gotta say WOOHOOO!!!! GO RED SOX!!!!! About dang time. I'm not going to worry about the fact that the Yankees are once again going to go all out and spend millions (possibly even rivaling George Bush's military spending in Iraq) so they can keep guys like Pedro and Beltran from teams like the Astros (tough break) and the Red Sox (woot woot). It just goes to show the Yankees fans that sometimes it just takes playing like a team and one big family, and making the best out of the hand you are dealt to win. Money can't buy everything! I gotta give it up for the Yankees, as much as I hate them (Native Main-ah heyah) they are a good team, and hard to beat (thanks to ol' Georgie's Checkbook). But we did it, no more 1918, no more who's your daddy, no more curse. Who cares about next year!! Bill Buckner and all the other cursed Red Sox player of old, The Red Sox Nation, and I can get a good night's sleep (at least til next season)........

Not being much of a follower of baseball, even I rooted for the Sox this go round. I hope the Cubs get it next year and other teams like the San Diego and Houston teams which seem to be perennial doormats I am definitely an underdog rooter.

Hey Tom:

I think your right about the pitching having something to do with the Yankee's collapse, but that wasn't the sole thing that did it.
The Red Sox bats had more to do with it more than anything else. You gotta admit that team can hit. I mean if you look at the scores of the ALCS the Sox scored no fewer than 5 runs. Even in the game 3 shallacking the score was what 19-8.

Let George spend his money. Money won't buy a World Series. This year especially should tell him that. Look who he added this year A-Rod and Sheffeild.

The biggest move in the off season I can think of off the top of my head. Was the trade that never happened. The Yankees got A-rod from the Sox.

Who would have thought that the Sox by not getting A-Rod that they would get a World Series.

So you can say that the Sox traded A-rod to the Yankees for a World Championship. What team in baseball wouldn't make that trade??

Paul

Baseball is not a big thing in my country. In my 35 years on this planet I have never ever heard or seen any baseball results on the Danish news, until now. The Red sox were on Danish news after 86 years in the dark.

warlock0322 / OK

Brain Cashman should be fired because he could have had piching; Hitting Red Sox could never out BET the Yankees because they all had carrer years Ortiz 41 homers ( Never again ) Many maybe. If the &**&&%$*& Cashman didn't get Brown, Or more bullpen help to help MO that game would have never gone past game 4' OH Also MO's family died in a FREAK accident so that had to aleast cut him down to sub human level instead of SUPERMAN because in 100 games he had a what ERA HOW MANY SAVES most in POSTSEASON HISTORY.Mo was over worked all year, if he saved as many as foulk OH you would be still HAting the Evil Empire. A-Rod trade NY is the holy gral of baseball Mecca so to say so there is more pressure than any other team ever.

Boston Only Bet Up below average piching any team would score that many runs. The Yankees out scored the Red Sox 30 to 10-15 runs in the first 3 games. Then the ST' never had piching they had hitting like the Yankees, IF they still had Clemens ( *&*%$*&* ) Andy ( &**%$&** ) Bommer ( *(*&^% ) they would have been sweeped in 4.

OR I'll say it again the media " M-E-D-I-A " in NY would have had alot of effect against BOSTON if they let them in the locker room.

In my opion the YANKEES should have never gone this far without piching. They had 61 come from behind wins, I had my fingers crossed when they went to Twins series.

If you wacthed the games all 162 of them the Yankees had more chemistry then last year because Torre is the MAN, best manager ever.

I think the Yankees let them Win for the Better of BASEBALL and have people stop hating the Yankees so much. AND OH money can not buy World Series LOOK at the 1997 Marlins, after that the team was auctioned off.

So to END the RED SOX fanstay story " YANKEES WE"LL BE BACK "

The trade for A-ROD wasn't the end curse it was NOMAR who was the curse to end it, He thought he was the NEXT ted williams. To much ego he had. Thats what saved the RED SOX.

RED SOX ( *&%$&* ) Who's Your Daddy? :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Calm down, Tom. Keep up like this and you're liable to have a seizure. Just relax and keep repeating, "it's only a game; it's only a game." Or, it it helps, "there's always next year; there's always next year." I found that both of these mantras helped me out after 2001 when the Yanks beat my M's in the ALCS.

War_Machine / I tryed since Game 4

S-E-I-Z-U-R-E

I all ready did and it won't STOP :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) HELP .

I think if they won it evenlly and in 7 games I wouldn't care. But to just shut down HOW can anyone not go into to seizure. The Yankees make records even BAD ones.

I think thats why Yankees fans are the MOST Hated because we are the most passionate about it's HISTORY, LEGEND, LURE and profelsionalism. We demand to win World Series every year since 1995-6.

Thanks for the Understanding and feelings I have so we know how each other feels. I hope the M's get better next year I am impressed that Ircho's hit ( DANG ) the leather of the BALL.

But I would feel better next spring I live only minutes from the Legend feild. Only if they made it close not just HAND the GAM E OVER..

Tom:

This is what makes theis rivalry so great.. Two cities, two sets of very passionate fans, and a history between two teams that dare I say is the most is the most famous and best in all sports.

There are a couple of things you said that I will agree with.

One: Torre is the man and one of the best managers in the game. Anyone who thinks different doesn't watch the game like we do.

Two: Yeah the pitching wasn't up to the "Traditional Yankee Standards" but they were no slouches either, the heart of the Yankees order(argueably the best in baseball) should have more than made up for the pitching.

Three: The Nomar trade was huge and a big risk. It wasn't that his ego did it, it was the fact that his little feelings got hurt when the Sox were trying to acquire A-Rod in the first place. I mean heck who wouldn't want him in their lineup???!!! Even his teammates said they wanted him there.

One thing that I will take issue on is the fact that the Yankees let Boston win. You cannot tell me that Steinbrenner, Cashman, Jeter, A-Rod, Sheffeild,( who said to a reporter."If we didn't win the series it would be his fault") and Torre all got togather and said let's pass on this one like we did last year( when they had Clemens and Andy) because it is good for baseball!!!!!

I will tell you what is good for baseball though. This right here. The rivalry, the discussions like this, the ribbing each other, and yes even next year. When the Sox and Yankees meet on opening day. At least that is what I heard was going to happen.

We will be talking about this all through the winter and the off-season will be very interesting. Seeing who stays, who goes, and what both teams do.

I hope the Yankees will be back next year, like they always are. Because afterall being the EVIL EMPIRE is also good for the game as well. Whether they win or lose.

I am asking myself the same question that everyone else is.. OK what's next?? I have no idea, but I can't wait to find out and even you gotta admit it going to be one heck of a ride..

Paul ( A Red Sox fan that survived the Bucky Dent, Bill Buckner and Arron Boone incidences among many others).

I alomost forgot the mightly :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

JASON GIAMBI was out the whole year and didn't play in playoffs, last year he was a major factor for NY to beat Red Sox. I think he's better than Ortiz any day, He's hit for average longer; power for longer. But sick this year.

Just had to ADD that because of any thoughts of a Boston Repeat next year.
