As I was getting ready to go to work this morning, I brushed by my most recent work in progress and began to think about this wonderful hobby that we all share @ Armorama...I then started to think about all of the kits that I have built, and which one was the most challenging, enjoyable, complicated, etc....Which brings me to my question for all the other posters out there in plasticland, What was/is your most favorite kit that you have built?...I know it's a tough question, because I think they're all a gas, but there has to be a special one for everyone...How about it, Folks??

Sincerely,
Gunny

My most favorite one is definitely - the last one I built

Outside of that I would say, Tamiya's M3 Stuart and my "Cold Stare" diorama for the Window on War campaign.

I really haven't built that many models since getting back into the hobby. I agree with slodder, I always like the last one best, but I also think very highly of the next one I'm going to build, whatever it is.

The one kit I've made more than once, that I really like is the Italeri Priest. It's not a snap to build like some Tamiyas, but it's not hard. It's challenging. It can also be kit bashed. That's what I'm doing now, using parts from a Tamiya Lee to backdate the Priest to an earlier configuration. There are so many things you can do to the Priest that you can make several of them with each a bit different than the last.

My favourite so far has to be Tamiya 1/48 Beaufighter. It was a joy to build and I think it's my best effort since I got back into the hobby.
Having said that the other day I noticed a small part had somehow got knocked off the thing.
Isn't that just typical? The ones that turn out rubbish seem to be indestructable.

So hard to pick one from the hundreds! I like to think that each one I build is an improvement on the one before, and the next will be even better. I think my next Sherman will be the best (4th in line to be built ). Dragon Sherman V with resicast 'Crab' conversion, metal barrel and Accurate Armour tracks, in a dio with some Dragon figures and a ruined section of Atlantic Wall...............if it isn't the best it'll be the most expensive failure in my collection!

Mine would have to be my King Tiger with the Porsche turret from Tamiya.

My favorite so far is my Tamiya Henschel turret KT, Of course I haven't built my Revell 72nd scale U-boat, Tamiya's 350 scale Enterprise, Trumpeters 350 scale NImitz ( not even purchased yet), the M-728 CEV conversion, or my Tamiya Porsche turret King Tiger or 70 other kits. I guess favorite stuff to build is Patton tanks and KIng Tigers. But then again, I really love those big ships too !!!

Eons ago I built a 1/32 Monogram P-51 Mustang. I loved that model. Got smashed in a move, and I'm still mourning it. I have no idea how it would fair today, but still loved playing with it. I did a book report about P-51s in Junior High and cut a different Monogram P-51 in half and mounted it to a poster. I think I've bought and build 4 or 5 of the Monograms.

I guess I loved the moveable gear and the dropable bombs...

I make models better today, but this is still the one that has my heart...

well I have three kinds of favorites..

I slam together 1/72 historic aircraft for the ceiling of my classroom. Those are great fun and modeling therapy. There is no more than 4 hours, including airbrushing and decalling in any one of them (except the rigging on the Wright flier).

The second kind are OOTB Sci fi kits, SF3D and Fine Molds Star Wars stuff, simple, fun and easily finished.

Last but not least at the minutely detailed , aftermarket laden, ongoing monstrosities that get finished at a glacial rate.

Not an exact 1 favorite kit answer, but that's my answer and I'm sticking to it.
