It is finally my turn to go on active duty. I start active duty on 4 October and report to Ft. Eustis, VA on 11 October. My duty position will be as Assistant Chief of Staff with the Standing Joint Task Force HQ (SJTFHQ) with Joint Forces Command (JFCOM) at Norfolk, VA.

I say it is my turn as my brother spent two years, after 9/11, with PACOM in Hawaii, and my oldest son is currently on active duty with the 278th Armored Cav and will be moving to the Middle East sometime after Veteran's Day.

I will be off the net after 10 October until I can get a new PC and get it on line at Norfolk.

I wish I was going with you Jeff. My Brigade was activated backin in August. Unfortunately they did not need my MOS, so I didnt get activated along with my whole section. They say its not over yet for us that stayed behind. KEEP OUR BAGS packed, is what they say.

GOD SPEED AND BE SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rememeber this while your activated and it will keep you motivated, it does for me:
