As i had promised before , i would be making a thread for two purposes . To let u know how the restoration work is going in the fire destroyed lab , and also to notify everyone that his gift pack has arrived here safe .

So ..after i week of hard work , i ve finally brought down all the destroyed roof and cleaned all the insulation from concrete and plaster (took me over 2 days !!!! working upside ).

Then all burned stuff and ceiling debris , were packed in several special bags and thrown away to clear the space.

one more day of hard work to get the smoke cover of the walls and windows and doors, so they can be primed before painting .

Electrical checked and they ll need two days of work but in the final stage to be ok for work again .

Then i ve ordered the wood supplies for the new ceiling, and they ll be here in 3-4 days (i hope before weekend)

I ve also ordered some new fluorescent lights (cheap enough) that are simulating natural light and do not tire u when under them , THANKS TO SEALHEAD THAT SHOWED ME THE WAY TO THAT.
They ll also be here in 4 days .

i ve choosed the primer ( a special one that neutralizes smoked and affected walls before paitning) and also the paint and ordered them
they ll be here in 2 days .

So most of materials here within weekend .

The ceiling restoration will start (me and a carpenter friend) and once is finished priming and painting wall will follow.

I ll keep u all the time updated with how it goes , and i ll shoot some pics for u also , when possible.

Thanks to your encouragement and inspiration everything will be ok and probably faster than i expected . i believe that is possible within a month from the fire , till 11th of October to have the basics made and get back in for starters.

Thanks a lot guys for beeing here

Costas

Hey Costas,

We have a saying here that it ain't over until the fat lady sings. I think it came from the opera.

I was going to suggest you prime with something like we have here call Killz, but you were on to it already.

My stuff should be there in a week and its insured so the fat lady can't take up modeling, either kind.

Hi Costas...
glad to see some real progress both with you getting over the shock and the work on the re-build.

I said we'd have a smile on your face soon...lol.

My package is on its way, posted the day after the post..but from Saudi they use the plane they built in "CHICKEN RUN"...so I 'll take bets my package will arrive last....but it is coming.

Cheers
Peter

Sounds like you are really coming along. I may have to rethink my contribution to the effort. I am afraid you will be done renovating before my paint kit (rollers, brushes, paint pan, etc.) shows up since I don't have it in the mail yet. Back to the drawing board, perhaps.

bro..i wonder what she will think when she see the pack from Turkey but i think she knows my name for the pack traffic between you and me.
btw, fat lady in post office here probably thinks i am a spy for sending and getting so many packages from different parts of world.
..and i am glad to see the packs arrive in ARMORAMA SPEED.
