Had some fun this weekend at the Show Me State model contest in Kansas City, hosted by IPMS West Central Missouri. I saw a few Armorama members there, including BroAbrams (Rob), Chilihead (Chris Mrosko) and Anders Heintz. There may have been others there, but if they were, I don't know what they look like.

Here's a pic of Anders and I that I snapped before we ran out the door at the end of the day!

Pretty scary, eh?

Anders did prety well in the figure category, as did Mrosko in figures and dioramas.

I entered three models and all placed well:

My Formations M4A1 took first in closed-top AFVs to 1945.

The DUKW took top honors in softskins.

The Priest got 2nd in artillery.

I took more shots at the show and I'll be posting some in the gallery over the next few days. They are a little bit of everything ... armor, figures, dios, aircraft, etc.

Heehee! Not to much of a flattering pic lol!

Your stuff was great Bob, that DUKW had some Awesome (superb!!) weathering!

Mrosko did well with his stuff and he got Best figure, 1st in dio's and 1st in WWII figures! I think it was for that 9th scale General in Stalingrad, but not sure as I wasn't there for the awards

I also did pretty good, got a couple of 1st's in historical figures and sci fi, as well as 3 seconds and a third! The biggest surpises was a 2nd in dioramas with my Stalingrad and a 2nd in WWII figures with a 120mm Stormtroopers fig also from Stalingrad.

Was a pleasant day and the entries were up from last year. The vending room was also quite good as well were the raffles! I never ever win anything on raffles, but I bought 6 tickets to donate to the club and I acctually won with 3 lol!

Didnt win the powerball though

Thanks guys -- appreciate the support!

Anders -- it's just another experiment with pastels (I've been playing with them a lot lately) ... glad you liked the effect on the DUKW. My figures are so feeble compared to your's and Chris' stuff -- but I'll keep trying!

The real test for me is next month -- the KC AMPS Midwest Regional. No 1-2-3s -- you get graded against a standard. I have a few new models that no one outside my immediate family have seen -- look for a few surprises, for me at least (WHAT? it's not a Sherman??? It's not in OD???).

Hey Rob!

Yeah it was good to see you again! Its been like forever since the last time. I have early classes and its hard to justify a 6 hour drive for a 2 hour meeting.
