I posted this under the old Patcon Who's Going? thread:
It was a pretty good show. Armorama sponsored the following categories:
Category #12. Softskins 1/35 and larger.
Category #15. Armored Vehicles 1/35 scale post-1945.
Several attendees approached me about more information regarding Armorama.com.
The Armorama members present included Al LaFleche, Charlie (Tuna), John (JohnnyBoy), Jeff (Grasshop12), Gian (Monte), TankCarl, Bryan (Tin_Can), myself (Sabot) and possibly others. Too bad we didn't find time for a group photo.
Many Armorama members who brought kits earned awards.
Charlie (Tuna) got best out-of-box kit for his StuG III in category #14 and JRock (JohnnyBoy) was recognized for best out-of-box figure for his Germanic warrior and third place for his fantasy figure in category #19. Al LaFleche cleaned up in the categories he participated in and Gian (Monte) won for his Elefant diorama.
Believe it or not, I earned second place in category #27 Ships larger than 1/600 scale with my 1/76 scale Airfix LCM Mk III with M4A1 Sherman that I built for Operation Overlord.
I also received second place in category #11. Military Vehicles (all types) 1/48 scale and smaller with my 1/72 scale PIOModels Berge Panther series 0.
I also received second place in category #12. Softskins 1/35 and larger with my old Tamiya SAS Jeep I built for the campaign Move It! (Thanks for the campaign Roo!)
Three seconds was a good day for me. I'm still amuzed at the idea that I received an award for a boat.
Tin_Can, where'd you go? Folks were looking for you.
Special thanks to all those who assisted in sponsoring the trophy packs.

Charlie, Thanks for the pics. You managed to catch all 5 of my entries!
This show made a major comeback this year. The last several years, attendance had been falling off and i think it was simply because they had no web presence. This year, they set up a web site and had registration forms available to download and fill out in advance.
Six members and a former member (who still attends events) of my club attended and four competed. As a group took home 4 first, 2 seconds, 1 Third, 1 OOB, 1 honorable mention and the best carrier based aircraft.

sorry about the blurry ones...
This was my first time entering... was cool to win the OOB too.. LOL even though I don't think there were any other OOB's in the category, but it's a start
we should do a thread of AR kits that were at the show..

Great photos TUNA. Thanks for taking the time to post them.
Sorry I missed the show, but I had to go watch Kurt Busch sweep the races at NHIS this year!

It looks like it was a great turnout! I wish that I knew who did what but, none the less, some extremely talented modelers there!
Thanks for the post Charlie.

I had told the trophy guy that I wanted to do various 1/35 armor categories and if I couldn't then do the sci-fi category. Apparently, more than one armor category was unclaimed and he had us sponsor two armro categories instead of sci-fi. It is funny that my Jeep wins in the category we sponsored.Great....You sponsored yourself!! :-) :-) :-) Lovely :-) :-) An armor guy places in ships and an A/C guy gets OOB in Armor. :-) :-)

Hey, my boat did have a tank inside! And I am equally pleased that two of my group build kits won awards.

Though I didn't "plaque" , I did hit the raffles with 2 wins.First I won a Junkers G-38 transport plane in 1:144.
And my best score was the AFV club pak 43/41 88mm gun,in 1/35th.
"Highly represent complex construction"
"Barrel made by aluminum" ( What company is "Aluminum?")
'Pressed copper shield, double shield represent intensly."
My seems like an intense build coming up.
