Everyone,
Just a quick note. My family and I are safe from this hellish storm. They are saying that this might have been the most devastating storm ever to have hit the south!! We just got power back this afternoon. Thanks to the many strangers who have come to our area to give us aid. God Bless all the hard working people. I went to work onbase Saturday and the base is horribly damaged. Sad, but we will rebuild. The National Museum of Naval Aviation was untouched, but the aircraft on outside display were destroyed. I will post pictures soon. Thanks for the prayers!
Ciao for now
Rob

That's good news Rob. I'm glad that you and your family are safe. The remnants of Ivan caused flooding where my Mom, brother and his family live in Pa. I just talked to them today.
Stay safe.

Ciao everyone,
Thanks for the best wishes. We were fortunate. Many did not escape with their lives, and many have no homes to go to. I sincerely hope that we have no more hurricanes for the next 50 years or so. Again, thanks. Chuck - I hope that your family is well. The news media have been calling it "Ivan the terrible."
Ciao for now
Rob

Rob...
I can only imagine what it's like in your state right now...
I can honestly say that i feel strongly for anyone that has endured what you are going through now...Up here in PA we have been recieving the aftermath of these horrible storms, which is alot of rain, and thankfully only light winds...alot of flooding, but nothing like what you have...I pray with you that this is the last of them!!!. Take care and God Bless you and everyone else that has had to deal with Mother Nature this season...
Sincerely,
Gunny

I can't even begin to imagine what you guys on the US eastern seaboard are going through; we don't get hurricanes in SA. Thank goodness you made it through the storm (understatement of the century). You must have a guardian .

Husky
Glad to hear everyone is alright as that's the most important thing. Dealt with the fringes of a hurricane when stationed in San Antonio years back, but never had to face the brunt of one (much less those that you've faced). Basically the occassional earthquake up here in Washington. Anything we can do, just let us know.

I've been wondering about our Armorama family members in the path of these terrible storms. Glad to hear that you and your family are safe.

Hope it is the same with the rest!!!

Ivan managed to flood downtown Trenton, New Jersey on Saturday/Sunday, when the Delaware River crested 12 foot over flood stage. State workers in the down town buildings were given today off. Waters started receeding this morning. Some people were rescued from the second floors of their homes, with the second floor under water.

My wife's sister lives down in Orange Beach, AL. Her bottom floor had five feet of water in it. Luckily, the upper floors are undamaged. God bless all of you who live on the coast. Hurricane season this year has been a bear.
