I've got a general question for those who solder their brass parts to each other.

I have a general cordless soldering iron available (don't know the wattage). Is something like this fine for soldering brass together? I'm thinking up of picking up the low melting point solder (275F) & flux from MicroMark, along with the micro soldering tip and the soldering pad. Is there anything else I should pick up?

Pointers appreciated,
Mika

I am not an expert at soldering, but I have done quite a bit of it in my model railroading. I think the low melt solder will be a big help to you. I have never used a cordless soldering iron, but it looks to me that it should work fine. The only other thing I would suggest to you is to have a clamp or two like the Triple Grip Third Hand (MicroMark #21120) or the Modular Work Holder (MicroMark # 83080).
