Hi Len, take a look HERE should give you all the info you need.
I'm trying to round up all the Armorama members that are going, so we can meet up. Keep an eye on this thread, assuming you want to meet, and we will have something sorted by kick off.
See you there.
Were abouts in Birmingham do you live?

I will be at Telford, all being well. I got a minor knee operation just 4 days before the event but I will get there, even on crutches if needbe! It would be great to meet up with you all.

I get the feeling my credit card is going to take a beating when I see all the goodies. :-)

The badge idea is a good one - why don't we just use the armorama logo off the top of the homepage?

see ya,
Vince

Hi Joe,
I'll be there fo Saturday only, I never have enough cash for 2 days.
How are you getting there? I might be able to pick you up, I'm leaving quite early though
OK, there's enough info' here now to make some sort of a plan, so we can all meet. It would be great if everyone could wear a bulldog tee shirt, but I personally am short of funds. I like Rowans Bulldog idea for a badge, but I am hoping to convince the IPMS that an IPMS branch based around Armorama UK is a good idea. So I will be posting a pic of a badge (which has been designed by someone else on Armorama) I will post it at a usable size and quality. I Fabloned mine and fitted it with a clip and used it at the Southwell show. If any of you would like on, but are unable to print it off yourself I, may, be able to do it for you, as long as there aren't to many.

Here's the badge:

I have added my Armorama user name to mine, but I think I will redo it to include my real name as well.
I simply copied this into Word added my name, printed it on card, fabloned it, made a slit in the top edge and and one of those name badge clip things. I made one of these last year but it must have got nocked off, cos it disapeared. Anyway this seems to be quite an easy method to produce an easily recogniseable badge. If we can all agree on this then it would help find each other, or at least gives us a known element to look out for?
If anyone cannot print this give me a shout and I will see what I can do
To plan a first meeting point what are your thoughts about the timing? Do you want to do your own thing first (if not you might miss out on some bargins) Do you want to meet at the entrance, then make plans to meet up later? Do you want to make plans to meet at one of the stands ie where Ian Sadler will be doing his thing? Would you want to meet there early on or a bit later?
My thoughts:
1. Meeting at the entrance would be great, but late arrivals, for what ever reason would be missed.
2. It is likely that some will meet in the que, if we are waring the badge, so thats cool and I'm hoping for that.
3. I would like to do my normal tour, to scope for potentional bargins, first but meet up at one of the members stand locations fairly early, Then possibly get an early lunch (it can get quite crowded). Then split up to buy all them goodies and have a look at the models on display (need to see what time the competition is closed to the public) and meet up later.
That's basically it. I want to find time to approach the branch secretery with a view to starting an Armorama branch ( so we will have a focus and meeting place in the future, and to promote Armorama).
Lets have your thoughts.

mal,

i appreciate the offer,

which way would you be going? im pretty much dead centre between the A1(5 lanes end roundabout-where the A614 splits off) and the M1(junction 29) but could get to an easy meeting point, and maybe follow you in the car? ive only been driving since july, so im not sure exactly where im going

regards

joe

Hi Joe,
If you want to follow me then the best place to meet would probably be just off the M1, J28 (A38, Derby) I think there is a layby almost immediately, (could cause a problem if I'm wrong, so lets say the first layby?) However, if you can get to 5 lane ends easily, which is 10 mins from me, it might be as easy for me to pick you up. There are benefits for both of us either way. If we have our own transport we are indipendant for the return journey, if we travel together we can keep each other company. My real concern is that you are a "new" driver, cos I tend to travel at quite a quick pace I'm quite happy to have you in tow but it could get a bit fraut, for both of us
Anyway Joe I'm happy either way, It really should be any heartache for me to pick you up, it's effectively on my way. I usually get there 20-30 mins before the doors open and leave around 4-6 o' clock. With, hopefully, meeting some of the big A members it might be later.
Let me know what you would prefer?

OK, less than a week to go, I've made up the list of those who have said they will be there, those with Sunday against their names have said they are going on Sunday, those without a day are either going on Saturday or both days.
Holdfast......................... Mal Mayfield

Winchweight.................Shaun Chant

Teacher.........................Vinnie Branigan

Littorio............................Luciano................. 'Sig' Italia?

mikeli125......................Davy Maclean.......Sunday

IanSadler......................Ian Sadler.............. IPMS Armour TAS (Hall 2 next to MAFVA )

Aitch...............................Howard Freeman........IPMS Armour SIG

dlgn25...........................John Snyder.................White Ensign Models stand

DaveCox.......................Dave Cox.......................If he makes it from the south coast

Almonkey......................Phil................................. Sunday

Victory............................Vince Haworth

Greatbrit........................Joe Middleton

mrbass3.......................Paul Harrison

So there are plenty of us going, we just need to organise getting together. I suggest meeting at Ian Sadlers stand. This is for no other reason than I have met Ian so at least 2 of us will get together. If Joe is following me down then, (assuming I don't lose him) there will be 3 of us :-) Doors open at 10.00 am, so shall we say meet at 12.00 noon, at the IPMS Armour TAS stand, which will be in Hall 2, next to the MAFVA stand. If you have any objections to this please voice them, but remember there isn't much time for a debate on it. I will try and get an anouncement made, but don't hold your breath. I will definately be wearing the badge I put up, so if you do see me before 12.00, say high For those going on Sunday only, Ian is there both days, so you could PM each other and make arrangements.
I'm looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible, see you there
