Recieved new orders yesterday to report for Basic Combat Training(BCT) and Advanced Individual Training(AIT) on August 30th. Will be shipping out on the 25th so I have around two weeks left here in the civilian world. Actually I got hooked up from a MSG I met on thursday(my b-day btw) and he got me a new ship date. Man its great to have connections. I am the happiest guy on Earth right now.
This does mean however that my entry for the incoming campaign will not even be close to completed and the finishing work I had planned for my fig for the camo craze will also not be completed.

are you going active duty, or just through basic and AIT for your reserve unit. Is this the unit stationed in Milan TN? I used to know several fellows from there 20 years ago. We called them the 'ooga bunch. My reserve unit was in Birmingham

Well Zach, good luck and enjoy Basic, you become a new person there.

Congrats! Where you going to basic and AIT? If it's Ft. Benning and you have any questions let me know. I was stationed there for three years as an instructor....I loved Ft. Benning, would have stayed 20 years had they let me....
