Hi all, here is my collection of military things.
They are a US field jacket, US sacthel,Aussie backback and US canteen.
They were all given to me by a Burma vet.

one question on my part though is the canteen WWII issue? it is made of a green plastic and I have never seen this in WWII era photos.

I don't think the canteen is WW 2 vintage. We still had metals one being issued in the mid 60's. I got my first plastic issued to me in Nam in 1967. I am pretty sure they were all metal during the WW 2.

thanks for that Dave. i was pretty sure about it too. But I think the cover is WWII though.

yes Andy the cover is WW2 but the bottle should be metal.

IT depends on the cover andy, does it have alice clips, or hook thingies that attatch to the holes in the pistol belt, example, upper is M-1910 with "hooks", bottom is alice clips, if it has the hooks, then yes it is a WW2 era canteen cover, if notm you're lookitng at the M-1956 cover, which is still nice, I have one, and I'm looking for another.
