I look at this and immediately realize modelers like this are at a whole nother level. Makes one feel humble. Impressive.

Andrei's is a friend, mentor, and an inspiration since the early 70's. I use to go to his house back then to get help with home work when I was in college. He was like having a private tutor. He is also the one who picked up my first airbrush for me, and taught me how to use it. He also took the time to explain a lot of things in art that were just "passed over" in classes.

A "thank you" to Grumpyoldman for sharing this one. The "Eye deep in Hell" vignette literally took my breath away as I became part of that scene. Imagine fending off the English attackers with grenades, and then, if still alive, having to deal with a fetid boot and the ill effects you are feeling, or imagine feeling. Your mind could continue adding layers of hell to the image of this little diorama. The skeleton actually added relief for me. Imagine a few days old shell ridden body... There was incredible beauty in the brutal ugliness of that piece. I'm sure most of us can "shoot for the stars" when we ponder "Eye deep in Hell."
