I've been poking around quite a bit since joining this great site! Eventually I see "Introduction", so here is my formal introduction. I served in the corps from 82-89. I was an 0848 and an 8511, leaving with the rank of SSGT. I did Ct State work for about 12 years and now work private security. I've been modeling mostly plastic armor in all scales, ( 1/87 - 1/32), for about six years, on and off. I've done tanks, soft skins, figures, and arty, mostly WWII allied. My last project was a resin M5 High Speed Tractor, and a plastic 155mm towed Howitzer. Currently, I'm working on a Testers Area 51 UFO flying Saucer, of all things. I've been in Southwest Florida almost a year. I'm a definate family man with a good size brood. Enjoying the fishing and beaches. If you read all this, my hats off to you, thank you for your time! Tom

Ciao earwig61,
I'm from Florida, also. Couldn't afford a big brood, though. Welcome aboard, and we all look forward to seeing more of your good work! Where in SW Florida are you? Me, Pensacola.
Ciao for now
Rob

Good afternoon Captain, Thank you for responding to my intro. I think I did join the "Incoming" campaign, or perhaps a formal decision is pending. Anyway could you tell if I'm in without knocking down any walls? I did post a couple of pictures there I believe, an M5 and a 155 Howitzer. Regards, Lil ole Private Tom

Tom,
I checked the roster for Incomming, didn't see your name there, so go enlist. It's rather simple, click on Campaigns,
new page comes up, click on INCOMING, new page comes up, you'll see a list of everyone, and a little "enlist" button, simply click that and you are enlisted.
Pretty simple and there's still time for others also.

Tom- Welcome to the best site on the net! I'm sure you'll find all of the help & answers you need , plus lots of fun & cameraderie. I was in the Corps from '86-'90, called back for Desert Storm in '91. 5711MOS. Were you east or west coast? I was 1/8, then 2d MarDiv. Be interested to know if we ever crossed paths. Hotel battery, 3/12 was usually attached to us. Good to see another Jarhead on site! Semper Fi!

Hi Robert, Nice to rap with a jarhead. I was an ops chief with E 2/11 during 1988-89. I also served as a DI/SDI at PI during 1985-87. Before this I was in arty in Okie, Philippines, and Lejuene. All this with the usual "interesting" collateral duties and stations. I missed call up to the dessert war by a few months. You know if we keep this up, we'll at least connect by Marines we served with. I also had two brothers in the Corps, 1980's as well, a winger and a signals spook. I believe your MOS was an NBC one, correct? You are right, this site rocks big time!! The big green weenie gave us 3 squares and a rack, nothing like a bunch of boots blowing their paycheck at the watering hole, drinking brew, playing pool, hitting on the local girls, and thinking we were supermen! We'll, Semper Fi and God bless, Tom
