Joey look carefully through the reviews and news section of Armorama. Starting with a couple of (recently reviewed) titles, the reviews can be seen

There are several books that got me "into" the hobby. Look for authors like Shep Paine, Francois Verlinden. If you are interested in dioramas, Osprey's "Terrain Modeling" is the best. For references, you have the Osprey books on figures, armor, etc.
Personally, I had a very bad experience with the Military Book Club and hate it. Others were happy.
This is the website to go to for this kind of help.

Someone before mentioned Osprey frankly there are few companies who offer such a varied selection of books... Concord are also useful although more as reference sources than anything else. It is also worth subscribing to a good modelling magazine, a good one will always have something that inspires you to try something different. The key-note is to keep asking questions here on the site for every question you ask there will be loads of answers and always people will point you in the right direction....Jim

I recently bought GERMAN TANKS of WW II in COLOR published by Motorbooks Publishing. It has actual color photos of equipment in it's original paint.

I also suggest you get any books that have color depictions of ANY of the things you find interesting. Also read historical books to get a feel for what the vehicles and there crew did in use.

yes, all good references and MANY MANY more, i think that you'll be very pleased with the selection of books out there, no matter what type of modeling you do
