Please help me if you can...I thought I read somewhere that on certain versions of the DUKW their were no drain holes. And this meant the ones in the Italeri kit needed to be filled..
Was I drinking too much? or did I really read this?

yes early models used in WW2 did not have them. They were fitted post war when rust problems from trapped water became real bad.

MrRoo is right, the drain slots came after the war. There is a D-Day DUKW build in this month FSM, you might want to check it out.

I thought that the factory drain holes were a post-war production but that crew during the war cut there own holes.

some may have but I have yet to see or read were this was done.
