All this week on the HC will be some terrific programing about D-Day. Starting with:

I'm guessing "Lost Tanks" is the show that was shown on Discovery or one of those channels. It was pretty interesting, interviews with vets, pictures of tanks on the ocean bottom, things like that. One thing I have about these shows is they always seem to be rushed to find the answers then suddenly manage to do so in the last few minutes of the show. Other than that it was pretty good.

The DD Tanks for Omaha were lost for the most part due to higher waves and being launched much too far from the beach. Of the DD's destined for Omaha only a couple actually made it to the beach. It is a pity, had they been launched closer to the beach, they might have made a difference.
