Greetings and felicitations!!

I'm fond of WWII armor and shaving my back hair while listening to Mozart's Requiem.

I just started building models after a twenty year break.
In the last six months, I've built:

1/25th Academy JagdPanther
1/35th Tamiya Tiger I
1/35th M? Stuart
(It's still a bit embarassing that I can't remember that designation. It's not M10 and not M4. I keep thinking that M3 was a Lee or a Grant.)

Wasn't the M5 a British Variant? Oh, nevermind.

I'm new here and you can hurl expletives and question my lineage now.

Welcome aboard, I am certain you will find yourself in good company here. Now you can listen to Mozart while you surf the site, maybe do some shaving too !!

Again, welcome to the site.
The Stuart was both the M3 and M5 (M3, M3A1, M3A2, M3A3, M5, M5A1 in all). The M3 Medium tank was the Grant/Lee series, the M3 Light tank was the Stuart series.

The M5 Stuart tank was supposed to be the M4 Stuart light tank, but they bumped the number up one to avoid confusion between the M4 Sherman medium tank and the M4 Stuart light tank. As it was we ended up with the M3 Scout Car, M3 Half-Track, M3 Medium Tank and M3 Light Tank during WW2. All very confusing.

The M5 was used by US forces and exported to Allied countries as well. Now, was the M8 HMC also considered a Stuart tank as well?

Well, the M8 HMC was nicknamed after General Scott - I've never heard of any historian calling the M8 HMC a "Stuart"...

There's always a first somewhere...
