I would like to know are the pictures of the Aberdeen Proving Grounds armor in Tanks2scale good reference material as for useing them to build an acurate armor piece? Or are they just pictures for show?

Wolf,
As a general reference, yes those APG pictures are good. However, if there are any pictures taken with any kind of paint scheme, ie camoflage, markings, etc, do not use as reference.
These items have been painted many, many times in the past 50 odd years.
Always check against period pictures, if possible.

Most vehicles at APG were originally given a coat of oaint (almost any color) just to preserve the vehicles against the elements. They have; however, recently begun to strip the tanks down to the bare metal and repaint them to their original paint schemes. I have posted some photos of vehicles that were recently repainted in the gallery here: Aberdeen Proving Grounds. Check the second and third pages for the newly repainted vehicles. Hopefully this fall I'll have time to go back and take more photos.
