Two that have really impressed me are Trumpeter's BJ212A (who else wouuld dare release a Chinese recoiless rifle?!?) and Revell's 1/72 Warrior (easiest braille scale build for me yet).

Any Tamiya kit would qualify in my opinion.

The 1/48 ME262 is great.

There 1/16 tanks are amazing in terms of build quality and fun to build factor.

There are so many kits I could list. Everyone of the kits mentioned previously that I am familiar with I agree belong there. I'm certain the ones I am not familiar with belong there too.

I'm going to add one that I don't quite recall how the fit and mold work was, but I remember it was great fun to build, had a couple of decent figures and I was proud of the way it turned out. That kit was a Testors (Italeri) Panzer IV. The kit came with parts to build quite a few variants. I think they were the A, f2 and H. I really liked that kit. Some day I plan to do it again when and if I find it.

Hi all,
for my tuppence worth, I have to say that my faves are:
WWII
1. Tamiya's Dragonwagon, I'm building that at the minute
2. Tamiya's King Tiger Ardennes (for my Dragonwagon trailer)
Modern
1. Tamiya's new OIF vehicles & Humvees
2. Academy's Blackhawk

There are loads more that are up there with them as will be with most modellers. I find overall that Tamiya takes some beating but are expensive. I'm enjoying my second wind of model building now & find that most new kits are a vast improvement on when I began as a youngster 30+ years ago.

How about DML's Panther A & D. Been around for about 2 years & is probably the most accurate Panther kit out there.
Also DML Modern US Marines. A good set OOTB but as I've seen many times has been a good base for conversion especially in OIF dioramas.
Lastly DML's whole line of figures. There are of course big bummers (old ones) but majority are good quality even resin quality. Just the best line of plastic figures IMHO.

How do you answer this???
Do you go with the kit that has the most 'traffic', the kit that has the best detail, or fit, or the best representation fo the most influential piece of military equipment??????
I like HalfYanks input I also like Sherminators pick.
I will add Tamiya's 88

Well done, Tamiya crafted it well, it's an awsome military piece, it has a piece of equipment and figures, it also has history tied to it, it can be anti-tank or anti-aircraft......

That's my pick.

Hey, that's right. The Tamiya 88 was one of the great ones. Expensive for it's time, but it was always a crowd pleaser at model shows and club meetings when all the crew was added and set in a diorama. Here's hoping Tamiya eventually rereleases it with even more detail.
