Hi,
Looking to move to acrylic varnishes for clear coating and seeking advice on the best products to suit me.
I'm in the UK so possible that some suggested products are not readily available.
I don't want to faff around mixing different products. Don't want to faff around with floor cleaner because it is difficult to find in the UK - keeps changing names, changing formulas etc. What I would like
Matt, Satin, Gloss
Decent sized bottles - not normal paint bottle size.
Reliable results - if I use matt, I want it to be matt.
I have seen Humbrol Clear and can get that easy enough, what is that like.
I most use Vallejo Paints so that was my first thought but confused that there are so many different types, standard, polyurethane, Mecha, maybe more - why so many and what's the difference.
They are just two brands I have looked at - open to other options.
Cheers,
Nigel

Hi Nigel!
Have had good results with Vallejo`s gloss (standard, quite long drying time) and PU-satin varnish (more durable than only waterbased).
And I love their matte - it gives a deadly flat finish!
For a showcase-glossy finish you should also try out Mr. Hobby (Laquer)clear coat with their own brand #400 thinner.
