How did you pick the name "Armorama"?

Rob,
Ahh....doesn't that goldleaf cluster look nice.

Well...Let me tell you it was not easy coming up with a name that was not already taken. I originally thought I was going to do a mostly armor site so I was looking for tank, armor, model, scale type names. Not sure when I though of just adding the "ama" part. I just thought: Armor + Diorama = Armorama.

After I thought about having the site involve all military modeling though I figured that since most miliary hardware is "armored", then it still works. Ok...modern planes aren't armored technically. But titanium is pretty HARD stuff.

Rob - the real answer though is because it's SHORT. :-)

Been wearing one for a couple of years now, and I get paid for it too!
I like the logo for the #2 choice too.

Rob,
Speaking of explaining choice of words. What does your quote under your name refer to? A ongoing battle with your kid(s)?

yep, my wife and I use it frequently when dealing with the teenagers. I think the actual quote we used was during an arguement with the oldest, now 16, when my wife made the statement the she wished she was 12 too so she could know everything like he did. I told him, "You don't know what you don't know."

It shows up on my RMS posts and my wife noticed it missing from my Armorama posts, so I added it.

I thought the "ama" part was added because of the Japanese definition of "ama":: a Japanese diver especially for pearls.
Although it's not derived from the Japanese, it was fun to think of it in their terms. Still, it's a "gem" of a site, Jim!!!!

Rob - Lol...thought it was something along those lines.

Ken - Where you been all day??? working huh? I should be getting work done too. But I'm not.

Makes me wonder though...where did the term "disco-rama" come from?

Working...yes Jim, it has something to do with this hobby and my wife. She tells me if I want something extra for myself (models and such in particular) I have to work for it. So a few 14 plus hours each day and I watch the OT come on in. Only trouble is now I'm lost with all the choices out there. AFV mag is on the list...
Hmmm, explains why I missed so much here.

Jim,
You've hit the jackpot with ARMORAMA name, I didn't like the #2 option (too Long? Maybe cause we all get used to #1)
Keep us linked Jim!
Cheers
