On the FOXNews Channel Hosted by Lt. Col. Oliver North

@ 0800 repeats @ 0200 The Korean War—The Battle of the Frozen Chosin

It's been called "The Forgotten War." Many in this country remember Korea as the setting for the film and television comedy series "M.A.S.H." But for the 18 million who fought there, there was nothing funny about it.

This Sunday on War Stories with Oliver North, we bring you the battle of the Chosin Reservoir, "The Frozen Chosin," one of the coldest battles on record since Napoleon set foot in Russia.

It's a story of exceptional bravery, of courage above and beyond the call of duty. An epic tale of endurance and perserverance, not just by a small handful of troops, but by the thousands of soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines, including some British commandos. These are the people who made up the X Corps in Korea during that terrible winter of 1950.

We hope you'll join us on Sunday for the unforgettable story of true heroism when War Stories brings you The Battle of the Frozen Chosin hosted by Oliver North.

In the April 2001 issue of Military Heritage magazine, there is an article on part of the Battle of Chosin written by Marc Bernstein. It is about the Americans' brutal retreat through Funchilin Pass to reach Hungnam, where they could be evacuated from. Worth reading.
