Hi everybody,

Not a model per se, but quite a collector's item that has been donated to the 'cause' by a wonderful Canadian friend of mine.... I can't even begin to think what this is worth in today's money, but it is not and will never be for sale...

Spank my banner to read all about it. As usual, comments, suggestions and your help is sincerely appreciated, but in this case, I am not the 'artist'.

Enjoy...

[Edit]

I've also added a few more pics to the 1/1 Photo Shop page...

That is really, really cool! I'm starting to get hooked on your site in particular, and mortars in general. Incredible stuff you have in there that I wouldn't have given much thought to not that long ago. It's good to hear that you are keeping it in it's original state, I think we all have that critical eye from time to time, trying to 'improve' this or that.

So, was this little gem originally offered in kit form, or strictly hand crafted to order so to speak?

Thanks Tony! I'm not sure of the 'status' of this model. I do not know if they were made to order. The second example that I am aware of has three different bombs to go along with it, mine obviously does not, altho we just might have some made up. The third known example was made of brass I believe and left unpainted. The whereabouts of Mr. Adams today is not known, being elderly back in the early '70s when this was avaialble.

It was a tough decision to keep it in it's original state.

I thank you for your kind words!

Marty,

I thank you as well! Yes, it is a beauty and to me it is the 'score' of the century!! :-) This is quite a generous thing for this CF Captain to do! Sharing a common 'love' for mortars, even tho my experiences with mortars is pale in comparison to what some others have gone through. I am honored to be in the company of those veterans.

COOL! (and thanks!) I was not aware of that today... I think that I am rated higher there than I am with my wife right now....

Thanks for the support guys! Makes it all that much more 'funner'.

I like that! That could be the motto for the "Incoming Campaign"!

Hi Kevin;

I think you should expand your horizons a bit and include any man packed artillery as part of your collection. The 75mm Pack Howitzer and the 7.5cm Infantry Support Gun are both candidates for your collection of short range support weapons.

afn,

True Jeffry, but there are waaaaaaaaay too many mortars yet to go. #:-)

Howdy Kevin,

Wow.....nice piece!! Ya know, that would look just dandy in the corner of my study! I don't suppose............?

Congrat's on the acquisition kev, that's got to be a real feather in your cap. And I for one couldn't think of a better home for it.
I have known about your site for some time now, and have always enjoyed it. Especially the meticulous care you take to get each mortar just right. I'd also say something about your superb ground & shrub work, but then my jealous muscle would start twinging on me.....

Oh, one thing I did find the other day when I was looking around for a potential mortar subject to model................this.

Now this would be a sweet scratch project now, wouldn't it?

Tread.
