The new magazine offering from euro Modelismo (Accion Press SA - Published in Spain North American Version) came in the mail today via Squadron mail order.

All I can say so far is "wow!" I just gave it a quick run-thru and and very impressed with the photos so far - yeah, so who doesn't look at the pics first?!
As I get more time later, I will give a full assessment and review of this mag.

Rob, did you get yours yet?

Yes Ken, mine came in today. From first glimpse, it easily rivals MMiR. This issue leans towards the German side, with a pair of articles on the Churchill and GMC dumptruck conversion. Unlike MMiR, it does not describe new products; however, doesn't it seem that lately MMiR's new products aren't always the latest information?

German armor articles are the Tiger I E, PzKpfw II F, Skoda Type 952, and the SWS. There's also an article on compressors.

Articles are similar to the build articles found in the MMiR Modeler's Guide To... by Ampersand Publishing.

Ken, feel free to review this magazine. My opinion is that it is well worth the $9.95 cover price and is a bargin at the $44.95 subscription rate (for 6 issues). My guess is that people will be paying 2-3 times that for the initial issues on eBay several years down the road just to complete their collections.

Between this, and AFV Modeller (that's how they spell it), and MODEL magazine, and all my new reference books I'm getting, I'm going to have to start working late to afford all my reading habits!!!

Can't wait! I have the Tiger book on preorder from SqShop.
Also, I just subscribed to Armor Model (just got off the phone). Any mag in the MMiR class I gotta have.
Chuck
PS: My wife says I can't play with you guys anymore.

Right it's confirmed... Panzer Aces (here in Spain) is the same magazine as all the talk is about. The only difference is that Panzer aces is in Spanish and the other is in English. I have just spoken to Accion Press in Madrid and they confirmed what i thought...Nice to have that cleared up.....Jim

My goal is to have enough high quality mags to fill in the time between the issues of MMiR. I am coming close. Yes i have also received my first issue. In addition to ARMOR, I receive AFV Modelling, Xtreme Modelling and MMiR. I guess I sort of really like armor.

For those that are waiting for their copy, and for those that are unsure what we're talking about, here's a small sample from one of the pages:

Very nice review indeed. Now I may be nastily cynical here, but this is looking an AWFUL lot like Extreme Modelling. It's a damn sight cheaper though! Have you e-mailed Accion Press with a link to the review yet? I am now doing this for all my reviews/news stories (in the hope I get some freebies at some point) ....Jim

P.S. The Spanish edition is CONSIDERABLY cheaper than the english one.....hehehe

Sorry to revise an old thread, but I have just come off the phone from Accion Press (to order number one) and they have told me that the 2nd issue is now available. As an anecdote, they offered me the choice of the magazine in English, French or Spanish....Now THAT is service.....Jim

I was unable to find their email address. If you know of it let me know please. Or, if want to email them yourself, that would be fine.
