Sad news in the modelling world, Sheppard Paine has past. It was his book that really pushed me into modelling at a young age. He will be deeply missed.

Saw this posted on another Forum. Very sad news. I read his books constantly back in the 1980s. Never actually built anything, but made a lot of plans. He will be missed.

Hi there

This is such sad news. Shep's work has been a huge source of inspiration for me from the moment I first saw his aircraft dioramas featured in Monogram kit instructions, and then through his books.

My sincere condolences to all his family and friends.

Just looked at one of his books again last month. A pioneer in the great diorama area. Condolences for his family, he will be missed but his legacy will live on.
