hey folks! i just had this sinister idea of a campain for everyone here sa filipino forums

 hehehehe
since almost everyone of you are die-hard military related modellers, why not do something really different to open the new year.... lets make a car kit involving WRC cars for a change

 anyone interested?

Cris, not that I have any proprietary interests in campaigns, but I suggested a
First Filipino Phorum Campaign around the subject
Jeepney.

In ako dyan!!! I'm plalnning on picking up the WRC 2002 Subaru kit, siguro some time next week, cris. Although I do have thesis this term, might I suggest on pushing back the deadline sometime after the term. Ano 'to, meron tayo diorama? O kanya kanya, since if ever we'd be implementing WRC cars, kelangan PAG isang dio lang, magkakaiba yung decals. IMO.

OMG, another campaign! Can't resist! Pwede ba civilian cars? Hehehe. Something to motivate me to finish my Honda Fit. BTW, maganda ba yung Revel?? Lambourgini Diablo na nakita ko doon sa JMN? Catched my attention :-)

Frankly speaking, I get intimidated by the large number of colorful decals used in these rally car kits. I fear I may just break them apart, or do no justice at all.
But, if the time frame for this campaign is right, I may yet try to do my first rally car. Any recommendations? I prefer Tamiya though, and an easy build since if I choose to join in this, this would be only my second car.

Sir GI, one of the main qualms of car-modelers are basically decals, I guess even AFV modelers share these waterloos, too. Tama ka, lalo na ren sa rally-cars, and remember the Clarion GT-RLM car I showed during the meet-and-greet? Now that is one heck of a decal-job. Pero siguro, with cris, we can have some really nice pointers -- I too have still to lay down a perfect decal job.
The Castrol Toyota Corolla Rally Car is a favourite, I guess, among car-modellers. With all its nice and complicated decals, hehe, maganda yang kit na yan -- although it's pretty hard to come by. Last I was in Lils Mega, there was only one of them -- I recall Sir Byron telling me he has some in stock(?).

I found some nice classic-rally kits in Nova Fontana! Haha! Nyahaha! Pero sira nga lang yung mga decals, I'll think of something.
Oh yeah, I saw a couple of colorum model kits, F-15C going for around 45 pesos each! Haha! 1:72

Making a simple car like the Porsche, without following the exact painting instructions and using only the relatively sparse kit decals, was a no-brainer compared to making a rally car. I'll try my hand on this campaign though for the sake of "expanding my horizons" hehehe - depends on the dates, of course. I'm interested in the Subaru car kit or a Peugot - anything as small and nearly as simple as the Porsche. Any manufacturer as well, though Tamiya is still King. :-) Any ideas? And yeah, I'll be doing this strictly OOTB. :-)
So, on the subject of dates - when do we start and end Cris? :-)

BLAME AXN! Hehehehe
Everyone: How 'bout we move the
start date of this one on January 27? Yes yes yes I know, February 1 is just four days away from the 27th but how come me asking start date of this campaign to be moved?
Well...
BLAME AXN!On the 27th of this month, AXN will be showing the World Rally Championship. I just saw the commercial a few minutes ago. And that made me want to build another car. Then I remembered that there was this campaign. So... put two-and-two together and...
Anyway, so, shall we kick this off on the 27th in conjunction with that AXN special? For those who just don't have the "inspiration" to join, watch the show, it might just make your fingers tick and your wallet itching to get that Tamiya rally car kit at the shop hehehehe

Hey guys! Wag isama name ko! I won't be able to commit my participation in the campaign, again with the reason behind this as the THESIS.
I know personally a very good Rally Driver. They own the Petron Gas Station over here at Greenhills, and I think he's the current Champion in the local Rally scene. Hehehe! Maybe if you guys are interested (in line with this proposed campaign), pwede magpunta sa events ang group? Somewhat similar to the Corregidor operations. He drives a Civic VTi-S, I know an FF rally car isn't the ideal rally car -- but still he's managed to compete alongside a Toyota Castrol Team EURO Celica. Hehe!
So there, I was over at Lil's parksquare and it seems the new Xanavi R34 GT car-kits have sold like hot-cakes! Hmmm..plus there're a few Hasegawa car-kits to boot, which are IMO very good quality kits.
The Castrol Corolla Rally Car sells for around 670, which astoundingly is more expensive than the R34 Pennzoil GT Car.

Two hours later, I was supposed to just buy some paints for the RMS Titanic I'm building for the IPMS-BAC British contest when I saw the Castrol Corolla Rally Car jomz is talking about here.
It was 640 pesos, not 670.
Sorry dude #:-)

Besides Tamiya, Revel and Fujimi line of kits, ano pa ba meron? I'm searching the net for a good rally car but don't know where to start. BTW, any rally car would do or yung mga nagparticipate sa WRC lang?
