Besides Tamiya, Revel and Fujimi line of kits, ano pa ba meron? I'm searching the net for a good rally car but don't know where to start. BTW, any rally car would do or yung mga nagparticipate sa WRC lang?

Revell.

Hasegawa and Aoshima dish in very-high-grade kits -- lest purchasing them thru the net might entail some additional costs, and procuring brands other than Tamiya locally will pretty much cost you an arm and a leg -- so I'd suggest getting any Tamiya Rally kit. A visit at Lils Megamall might land you some nice kits.

Oh yeah, one question since I haven't seen any stipulation re: the types and stages of the rally cars we're going to be having in this campaign -- WHAT IF the kit as it is is already a dated kit with really bad decals (much of which would really provide the car with that RALLY LOOK), bad meaning un-useable -- might one be allowed to resort to AM decals, or other options for providing their kits with some sponsor decals, racing number, driver names, etc. since I remember that the campaign would be restricted to OOTB constructions.

OOB usually means not using PE or resin kits as well as not having extensive scratchbuilding. Masking tape seatbelts, wire buckles, and AM decals are not considered "modified".

Jomz: This one isn't a proposed campaign anymore. It's a go since the first AXN episode on the WRC. Just FYI.

It doesn't have to be in a diorama, but if you want, then it can be anywhere. BTW, AFAIK this one's OOTB.

Meron pa naman ata. May dalawa pang Celica dun.

Haha!

Hrmm..might drop by tomorrow.

Pinapili ko nga si misis between the Corolla and the Celica. Sabi nya common daw itsura ng Celica. Dati ko pang wish na makagawa ng Celica pero I agree that the Corolla looks nastier.

Tips naman car Elders!!!

Hehe, well that Celica is the one sponsored by Team Europe. A local rally driver actually has one, and has been using it to race -- talo nga lang nang FF (front engine, front wheel-drive) na Civic. Although, given a choice between that Celica and the new Celica, I'd go for the older one. (:-)

I think I posted a link a few pages back, to a page which actually has a Corolla built na. Might want to check it out.

Checked that out too. Plano ko kasi basecoat white all parts then put a few layers of Future.

Hmmm..basecoat white on which parts? Interior parts o yung shell? Textbook approach daw is primer on the outer shell, tapos mga interior parts eh, kanya kanyang diskarte -- pero ayus yung plano mo. Future pa talaga hahaha...

To all the car buffs out there:
Have you seen the new Tamiya 'Finished Body' kits at Lil's already? I was just wondering if you think these are worth it- to buy or keep that is, since only minimal building is involved. And if you think the finishes are good, great, lousy, etc. They cost around 1800 yata.

Hmmm I think I've seen the solicitation kits on Tamiya's site. Ok naman ata yung quality, though I've still to inspect one up-close. Though the cost is a bit ok since if you compute the overhead you're going to be putting into a kit when you make it by yourself, mas mura ata talaga ito in the long run. Which cars did you see ba sir Bull?

I've seen the Xanavi R34 Special Edition, this is the first time I've seen a car-kit having 2 types of releases, except for the BMW Williams F1 car. The difference is that the SE kit has PE parts in it, with the trademark black box for kits with PE parts.

Thanks for the threads jomz!

1. Lacquer takes a few days to cure. Better ba acrylics via airbrush?
2. Assemble parts into major subassemblies before base coating with white para mas konti ang pipinturahan.
3. Polish the body shell. Ano pwede pang polish ng Future? Future?

Hmm I use rattle-cans na Tamiya to paint eh, these are lacquer-based, too right? I do wait a few days, 2 at least to make the paint cure -- so goes with Tamiya's primer -- as it is said na nag-shri-shrink or rather, parang lumalapat pa ang primer/paint sa shell nang kit pag medyo fresh paint pa siya.

Well yeah, pero some people don't bother with base-coating lalo na sa mga smaller parts as usually, in cars medyo delicate yung mga crevasses nang small parts baka mabura yung detail. But yeah, ayus lang siguro na mag base-coat ka, and in theory mas onti nga gagastusin mo pag ganun ang ginawa mong diskarte.

I've used Tamiya's rubbing compound + Tamiya Wax (I think STC is the only place which has this) - and the results are pretty amazing. I think some people have had success with industrial grade compounds, pero ingat baka medyo matapang yang mga yan -- since in polishing you're essentially scraping off paint, too. The cloth you're going to be using also will be a big factor in how your "polishing" will turn out.

BTW, before you go into base-coats, and primers -- kelangan kung lighter colour yung gagamitin mo sa shell iba ren yung colour nang basecoat/primer mo.

Good luck!

MB CLK DTM 2000 Original-Teile

Porsche 911 GT1

Opel Astra V8 Opel Team Phoenix

I couldn't open the box but you can see the finished body via the box cover's see-through portion. Looks okay but I would like to see it really up close. Their RC Finished Bodies kasi medyo masama pag lagay ng stickers although the painting of the body itself is very good since printed yata.
