Thanks for the helpful replies, people!

That said, I'm having one issue: I'm having trouble finding an Avro Lancaster or a Vickers Wellington in 285 scale. Anyone know of one?

I do not, but GHQ http://www.ghqmodels.com/pages/military/index.asp is the prime source for this 1/285 scale. Even the military sources from them. They are always adding new offerings. Try going to their web page and contacting them. I am sure they would take suggestions and those British bombers are pretty popular. They may take you up on it.

I also know of a 3D print source , "soxfox2" on eBay in Ohio. They make mostly 1/700 aircraft http://www.ebay.com/itm/GEAR-DOWN-1-700-Avro-Lancaster-RAF-Heavy-Bomber-x3-3D-Printed-/221669528006?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item339c8891c6 and do excellent details. I requested a B-36 in 1/700 and they had this offer for sell at a low price in a couple of months. Very nice to work with. Perhaps they would consider scaling their exisiting 1/700 scale British bombers to 1/285? 3D printing is scalable for low production runs. Just a thought. Good luck!
