Oh droool! That's one beautiful 'Shangrila' he's got there...

Congrats to IPMS-Phils.! Does this mean you'll be getting funding and access to "exotic military technologies" ala "Important Non-NATO ally" status?

Dear Cardinal, Shonen Red, GIBeregovoy & Blitz,

Sorry to burst your bubble guys. It seems the disinformation campaign is working. Please read the announcement carefully - the sister club is IPMS Manila, not IPMS Philippines. IPMS Philippines is the OFFICIAL IPMS club in the Philippines. We are also known as IPMS Philippines Bert Anido in honor of our founder.

IPMS Manila is a chapter of IPMS USA. The people behind IPMS Manila were 4 former members of IPMS Phils. & they formed their own group & started using the words "IPMS" & "Philippines" without permission from us. Why they insist on using "Philippines" instead of identifying themselves as a USA chapter is beyond me.

Their actions have caused confusion amongst modelers in the Philippines. The intentions for their actions is known only to them, but in my opinion, if an organization cannot be honest about their "nationality" then something is very, very WRONG!

Their website even is a copy of the IPMS Philippines Bert Anido website! Talk about originality!!!

This is all I can say at the moment. Our club is working to guarantee our legitimacy. I hope this clarifies who the TRUE IPMS Philippines is.

hmmm..it's a good thing you informed us Fiawrc .. I sense another Magdalo Mutiny just kidding
yes It's quite confusing but... nevertheless, politics and modelling don't mix.. In my opinion I believe IPMS BAC have started it all before the "SMCP or the Binondo modelling chapter or whatever chapter there is" Again modelmaking is suppose to be fun. Peace Brothers!!

ps- I thought Noel Carpio is the owner of the model shop sa Makati Cinema Square ooopppss Roel Carpio pala heheh

Blitz,

I'm glad I was able to clarify the situation for you. You're quite right in that modeling and politics do not mix but the problem was brought upon us & certain solutions were implemented to protect our ranks.

Our activities & website should speak for themselves as to which group has any substance to it. You will find no "smoke & mirrors" tactics in our website.

Haha Blitz, I really wish you were here so we could talk about it some more. The parallels between this group and the old SMCP is uncanny. And since you brought up "Magdalo", I guess that summarizes it all. Modeling is supposed to be fun. And that's what we all are having now that the disgruntled(s) are gone. Our meetings speak for themselves. We're a close knit group, they were the frayed ends and we all know what happens to frayed ends. It's actually sad we had to clarify this. Probably more suited as an off-board topic if anyone is interested. But the important thing is that the club is strong, growing, and active on all fronts. Bert Anido would not have wanted it any other way.

Cheers

I think I can safely say that we are interested to know the whole story about the frayed ends

Sure Jeep. Pag nagkita ulit tayo. Sana nga sa 28th. The letter we were asking all the members to sign has to do with this issue.

fiawrc: Thanks for the clarification there. I didn't know it myself since I am not a member of these organizations. I just run into it since I was getting into the IPMSnj website. I thought that there was only one IPMS chapter in the Philippines. Sorry 'bout that guys.

Shonen: I'm not a member of the IPMSnj. I just happen to run into one of their member, Jeff Herne, on one of the modeling forums & he invited me to join their club.

Mag form na rin kaya ako nang grupo and recruit my 6 yr. old daughter..
And take note ha!! I am presently NOT a member of other IPMS Chapters in the Philippines
Just kidding.. I am just trying to alleviate the situation with a little humor..

Cardinal: no harm done.

Bakit kaya?

Salamat po sa inyong lahat at Maligayang Pasko.

Aba eh, naging AM radio na pala tayo :-) . Anyway, the officers and members of IPMS Phils-BAC are willing to present the whole story to anyone who may want further clarification. I still believe that this should be done off board, lest we be accused of grandstanding online, which BTW, is what "they" are doing. Time will truly tell and clarify/justify/prove to everyone who the better club is. Hindi kami mga iyakin na nagsusumbong at humahanap ng kakampi sa ibang bansa, kasi kakampi natin lahat dito(sorry, just had to say that) I'm sure that Jeep and Fritz, who have attended at least one of the club's meetings, can attest to the guys in the club. And I do hope to see all of you again on the 28th. If you can make it, please do. You won't regret it!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE, AND GOD BLESS!!! (:-)

HA! Kahit ako nauto! galing talaga ng PR man nila. Noong unang beses kong makita yung site nila eh wala akong ginawa kundi tumawa ng tumawa. #:-) #:-) #:-)

Mr. Hunter
Thanks talaga sa mga info. Deserving Bert Anido awardee.

Ahhh.... I see... ok, thanks for the info/clarification Fia.

BTW, please, in honor of my great-great-grand-uncles' spirits, let's not use the word "Magdalo" to describe dishonorable rebels. I was deeply angered by the Awkward Plotters' use of the word "Magdalo" for their little adventurism in Makati this year, staining the honor of my uncles' memory. I hates them for that and hates them forever.

In case you guys are wondering why the rant above, check my surname at the IPMS-Phils (BAC) application form, and remember your Philippine history.

GI,

Please accept our apologies for the use of the term. Indeed, the personalities involved in the Makati mutiny have tainted the honor that comes with the name Magdalo. Those mutineers in Makati, and those subject of the discussion here, do not deserve such name.

GIBeregovoy: I see a parallel here. You're not the only one who was victimized by other groups that misappropriate and misuse hallowed names. Both you & the club are innocent victims. But, life goes on...

You are aware that it is your organization that is under scrutiny here right?. I can't help but feel a bit of sarcasm in your post. I think its best to continue on this particular topic on the other thread Jun Villalon posted. We are here you know.
